I can say, with work and school I barely make it to masters every season. And even in the Mewtwo meta I had overall fun games the whole time. It's weird that the higher rank you get the worst matches you get.

Recently had a match where we were behind by 300 points. Teammates wanted to quit multiple times but enough folks still wanted to at least give Ray a go. Lo and behold, we lose most of the fights at Ray, but steal it anyway. And the opponents surrendered IMMEDIATELY, despite being ahead by a lot in points!

You could also add this rule to this timi series: you should play which ever pokemon is at the front image when you got the the license shop. e.g this week its blaziken and mimikyu. i guess it means you can only play two pokemon at a time which is dull

5:28 - I guess I have been going around saying this (well, mainly about Char), but this is the Lv4->Lv5 threshold some people can't overcome as a starter mon (but Squirtle really has much better last-hitting compared to what Charmander has-- Charmander literally has the worst starting skills for last-hitting). That said, the enemy Squirtle isn't near their passive EXP cap yet, as of this timestamp, so... just really behind in farming, I guess? Will have to see if the Squirtle actually gets stuck at Lv4 or not.

Pokemon Unite has a severe lack of easily accessible and helpful information and it feels deliberately awful. A new player should not have to look at external guides or tutorials to be given the proper information needed to play the game in a productive manner, actually useful and accurate info should be readily available in game and easy/accessible for players to find and use. There's no reason why new players should have to search up KZbin videos telling you why Leftovers is bad after you already leveled it up to max because TiMi said it would be a really good item on your Lucario.

Awww, Jake discovering the magic of Pokemon is amazing. Pokemon games get really dull when you play them over and over in the way they were intended. What makes them more fun and adds new elements is when you make your own challenges or set your own restrictions during a playthrough. This is why Nuzlocking and Speedrunning are so big in the Pokemon community. This isn't limited to the main series games either, this applies to all games of the Pokemon franchise with maybe the exception of Cafe Remix and GO. It's awesome to see you having fun with the game though I will admit that the quality of my games right now seem to be a lot better before hitting Masters. So Ultra has something going for it in terms of quality games right now which I enjoyed win or lose.

23:52 I felt that genuine confusion lmao I totally felt the same about my personal experience with path to masters. Me & my teammates and the enemy team were actually TRYING our best to win our games. (I'm on AU region btw) I have experienced more teamwork, more logical thinking like focusing on objectives or farming exp when there are a lot of farm available, and more enjoyment in general. As a matter of fact, I prefer my games when I'm Ultra rather than my path to 1600 Masters. They are much more solid games that I don't mind loosing, since me and my teammates at least tried doing our best and fighting together~ Also, I'm excited to binge-watch this series. 😅I've already watched "Duos to Masters", "Random Builds to Masters", "Troll to Masters" and "Jungle Invade to Masters" multiple times as I do my journaling and studying. I don't know if you realise, but your videos are a nice background podcast/music that helps me focus. It's like a spragels radio 🤣 Love your vids spragels~

Really starting to hate it when people just throw the game like the Mimi at 12:30 - 12:45 Team could have nailed a decent comeback if it weren't for it's rant afking at base. Like, plenty of matches could be salvaged even if the team loses Ray, especially when having the lead but oh no, people rather get into "sitting duck" mode and try to tilt others by "Thanks!" spamming :/ My goodness.

I had the weirdest ranked game yesterday, surrender like a minute into the game. I was like wait, that's not possible. My rank stayed the same and it said the game ended early because two or more players couldn't play. It was strange seeing one enemy.

It’s a new thing. If one of ur teammates or a person on the enemy team is afk at the very start of the match. The team with the afk can vote if they want to play the match or not

I honestly feel like that would solve A LOT of the matchmaking issues, if people could fall out of Master rank it would rout through all of the trolls and people who don't play correctly and make the matches much better and less frustrating

Nah i think we lowkey need them to add a few ranks We go Beginner Great Veteran Ultra And Masters I think they should add two need tiers. Ace after Ultra And Elite Keeps the pokemon theme going and they make it so the point system remains for Elite and you can drop out of elite. But once you get to Masters you still can't drop out but by that point Elite and Ace would've filtered the stragglers. Additionally they need to put people with negative win rate overalls with each other and positive win rate players together. Its perplexing that you can legit get an entire team of players who's overall data indicates they're a consistently bad player but you still have to pair with them.
