Just for anyone that likes the yellow and likes how this came out/covered a heads up- yellow is one of the worst hiding colors out there. To get it to look right you really need to spray over all one color, and white is the only one that works well. This was sort of the perfect situation painting a white car (you saw when he painted over the scuff it didn't cover), if you are starting with any other color you need to put down a white primer/sealer first.
@beardedguardian713 жыл бұрын

Just an added tip, if you want to get really clean, sharp lines when taping off areas, put the tape down and then spray it down with the previous color to seal it perfectly. So in this instance, after spraying the yellow paint and then taping off the hood, spray yellow paint of the tape first and let dry to tacky, then spray the black paint. It seals the tape so absolutely no black paint creeps under the tape and creates imperfections in your lines.

Amazing results brother! Light colours are definitely the way to go with this type of single stage car painting. I tried painting a door on my ol' SLK and man, what a mess! Seriously. Ground it all back down and then painted the whole car in a nice light matt grey (but not one that look like primer!!). Came about about as good as your fine job here.

You did good man. I been doing the same, each car gets better. I'm on my 3rd car, it took me a while to find the right paint. You inspire me. You get better every car you do. I have a 08 Mazda 6, I painted hood on a Toyota Camry. Then a fender on another Camery. 1 QT, clear, and all you need to paint hood, I was told would cost me 358.00, plus tape paper.
