The group needs to be on Wikipedia too. They are part of our tradition(those who grew up listening to them) and that has to be recorded well. They are a true gem.

I have followed both Take6 and Breath of Life Quartet since my childhood. I saw how Take6 picked up from Breath of Life with songs like You Better Mind. It all satrted with Breath of Life.

A wall of heavenly sound - black Adventist music defined in this interview. I am seeing this for the first time, even though I was immersed in it from Pine Forge in the 50’s to Riverside in the 60’s to PFA reprised in the late 60’s - 70’s to Oakwood in the 70’s and early 80’s these gentlemen are the distillation and personification of creative black Adventist music that literally changed the face of music worldwide. I am viewing this on the day of Elder Artis memorial at Oakwood Church

I recall their visit to South Africa in the early 1980s. What remains clear in my mind was Shilton Kilby's rendition of Battle Hymn of the Republic on the piano. The middle Chopin-esque stood out for me as a piano student. I have keenly and studiously followed them since then. I even spotted his minute arrangement in Marven Warren's Overture of Soulful Celebration. Blessings.

I remember that as if it was a few weeks ago simply because I love quartet music and also a piano. That was wonderful and this brings back memories of the 70s and the 80s. We attended both concerts hosted by our own New City Heralds from Soweto at the Wits Great Hall Saturday evening and at Johannesburg City Hall on Sunday afternoon. What a weekend we had.
