I hear you ! I had 104 loads like that put in the back yard (farm) and build a 90x90 foot pad. Land slopes off about 8' in that length. That put in and foundation dug out - Then 95 Cement trucks. What a bill on those! Had a laser D8 and an expert level and pack three trucks at a time. Constant line of trucks pouring and doing a circle and then out the other side. You did a great job !

I used to push out and grade 240 ten wheel dump trucks a day with a D6 LGP. Miles of fill, some areas 50 - 75 foot deep. Compound grades, 5 foot lifts. But I have done more. Myself and a partner pushing out a constant line of trucks (1/4 mile long) mostly 18 wheelers with supervisors lining them up and dumping 10-15 trucks constantly at a time. Ten foot lifts, using D9Rs. All this was preparing Fresh Kills Landfill (now closed) for final capping. It was the largest landfill in the world.

Looks a bit like what we call type 1 over here which we use as a granular sub base. It needs to come with a bit of moisture content so it can be compacted, but boy does it compact down well. We had an old grader on a job I think it came from the military, we had an old boy that operated it, I think he was ex military. When he retired they struggled to find a decent driver, good grader drivers are, apparently, as rear as rocking horse crap. Any chance you could run through the controls of the grader next time it gets an outing.

i tipped a 4ton forklift once by a similar movement like the left truck at 1:23. I believe the truck driver knows very well how top-heavy machines operate but hearing the hydraulic squeel and seeing the right tire lift made me shudder. In case of my accident I had about 800kg(1500pounds) at around 2,5meter(8ft) above ground, so i could see UNDER(this was what did it) the load where i was going. I started moving but the leadacid forklift stuttered forward with the load in the air. Because I had my wheels turned i started tipping immediately and couldn't save it. It is my only accident in 4000 hours It was an open cabin and i found myself 90degrees tilted and hanging on the left side, which was now up, while acid started making its way under me towards stacks of tv's. We wasted about 4 brooms and i was in shock for the rest of my shift. not one scratch on me.

Trucks show up all at the same time cause' dispatchers put slower trucks in front of the faster trucks so the faster ones push the slower ones. Problem is slower trucks don't go faster so you get these bunch ups. Just tell the dispatcher or loader how far apart you want your trucks, that should end the bunch ups.

I was wondering why too. I've been on jobs that the driver's are told the depth and they set their spreader chains and lay it down. After it just graded out perfect with the grader. I guess everyone has their way that works for them.
@michaelstobie666
@michaelstobie666 5 жыл бұрын
Because the trucks only spread the stone the width of the truck so it would just be long streaks of stone, this way he can spread it over a wider area and he can make it thicker in low spots and shallower in high spots, something the trucks cant do
@lordhoho1
@lordhoho1 5 жыл бұрын
Michael Stobie not really 1he has already graded the area so there shouldn’t be any low spots 2the driver can use the chain on the lift gate to control the amount of stone that comes out in addition to controlling the speed of the truck.
@michaelstobie666
@michaelstobie666 5 жыл бұрын
He explained in an earlier video that there was humps and hollows and he would have to grade the stone out to properly level it, when your in a truck you cant really tell where the humps and hollows are and you cant really control the speed, spreading with a truck would be less efficient then simple grading it out roughly with the dozer

@4You5Tubeber
@4You5Tubeber 5 жыл бұрын
It all depends on how it's set up. Like here in Wisconsin you can call the kraemer company and get contacted trucks to haul for you. And you just say what your hauling and who for. It can even be done the same way if you got your own trucks that you called in then you just say it is for this company and off you go.
@W96NZ
@W96NZ 5 жыл бұрын
Here in VA the Vulcan quarry has O/O on stand by. You call the quarry tell them how much you need. For instance like this video 1000 tons of 57's they would dispatch the trucks to deliver the stone. You pay the quarry and the O/O would get a percentage of the loads. If you have your own trucks you just go to the quarry and tell them what you need, but you gotta call ahead, and make sure you have a great relationship so you can get the best deals.

We need to call out the suppliers about shorting loads. It's becoming a real issue, loosing 3-4 tons/yrs per order. No I didn't believe it until I started inspecting the drops, sure enough it was a average of 3-4 per truck called out the supplier and their response ( we wouldn't do that on purpose). Inspect your drops.

How much more weight can a 6 axle dump haul vs a 5 axle
@EddieTruckingAdventures

It varies from 15t to 26t. Here in the uk we can go between 7.5t to 32t dump trucks (also know as Tippers and grab tippers which are special tippers which the driver can load him/herself.) Hope this helps

I'd hate to be the person getting that stone bill to pay! On a plus note, at least they didn't spec fabric underneath.

Reason why all trucks show up at once, dispatchers put the slowest drivers in the front so they will be pushed by the faster drivers. Some drive according to the law some always have to speed, so they bunch up...

I'm curious. Why didn't you have the trucks tailgate the rock? Saves time/fuel
@EddieTruckingAdventures
@EddieTruckingAdventures 3 жыл бұрын
The reason why is because there was many different trucks coming in and out and it takes different amounts of time before the stone starts coming out

I would say he is down it manually around 16:00 minutes, you can see there no GPS on the dozer.
