I have shurb that we call a spice bush. Leaves look like a rose sharon but it has tiny clusters of yellow flower that smell just like nutmeg. Takes me way back to my great grandmas kitchen. Yummy. Wish i really knew what its name was. It also spreads. I have 5 or six i have dug up and put down my fence row. Its in the shade and i hardly ever watered them last summer or the summer before that when my husband dug them suckers up for me. I sure need some help??????😊

That sounds fantastic! There's nothing better than the smell of nostalgia 🙂 I think you already got the name right. If you search for Northern Spicebush (or Lindera Benzoin in Latin), does that sound familiar?
