@AnglingAddictsPNW4 жыл бұрын
Dan M That’s awesome! Good for her. I look forward to seeing the pic. Hopefully yours is next 🎣 I typically throw them without weight. It’s usually heavy enough to get where I want it to be. I just retrieve it super slow. I can’t feel enough of what the spinner is doing when I put a weight on. I ended up making some heavier spinners if these ones don’t get down enough. And thank you! It feels good to be back. Hopefully I can find some more fish this coming week.

@brockparker17004 жыл бұрын
I got a fishing problem. I have never caught a Chinook! What are your thoughts about the Glenn Otto/Dabney area?
@AnglingAddictsPNW4 жыл бұрын
Brock Parker - at this point, with a few hatchery fish being caught a few weeks ago, that tells me that already these fish are going to be spread out. I know they have been caught up around cedar creek and down low. One day they are in deep water, the next day they are in shallow water. I just run all over the place. I prefer somewhere around the middle. Dabney is closed and I know Glenn Otto gets a ton of pressure since Lewis and Clark is closed. Best thing to do is just find a spot and see if something turns up.

Hey Nick. Noob to fishing here. Do you use bait on your hook or is the spinner enough of an incentive to get a bite?
@andrewokerlund56894 жыл бұрын
The spinner is the main attraction for the fish. Something colorful and with good action is all you need to get a fish on!
@AnglingAddictsPNW4 жыл бұрын
Andrew Calavan - As Andrew mentioned a good colorful spinner with a good action is all you need. I never put on any type of bait but at times I will use some scent, though I haven’t noticed much of a difference in catch rates if I don’t use the scent, I’m sure it helps though

What is the Benefit or using the yellow line I see people using ?
@AnglingAddictsPNW4 жыл бұрын
Alex Butler - it’s mainly just user preference but when it comes to salmon and steelhead fishing you want a good presentation, especially if you are using a bobber setup. The high vis yellow is easy to see which will make it easier to keep a straight line to your gear, essentially fish it more effectively
@righteous_era4 жыл бұрын
Angling Addicts PNW still haven’t caught my fist salmon yet since my last comment on your video, but I won’t give up maybe need so switch up the spot a little bit... in the same spot I have maybe lost 8-10 lures .... My stomach ache every time I felt the line snag!

Im kinda scared to use spinners because i think there gonna get snagged or i will accidently snag a salmon and since when could you catch salmon in spring!?
@AnglingAddictsPNW4 жыл бұрын
likeabledumb1 - your concerns are justified. I don’t use treble hooks, just single point hooks. Makes for less snags, cleaner hookset, and it’s easier to release a fish of it wild. It takes a bit of practice to get a good feeling of how and what your spinner is doing. It’s not often you would “snag” a fish unless you were fishing intentionally in a way to do so. With a little risk can come big rewards. My biggest salmon and steelhead have both been on spinners. Salmon have always been around in the spring, hence the name Spring Chinook. They don’t hit all the rivers but some have some pretty decent runs. The spring run goes into early-mid summer and then basically turns into summer steelhead fishing until late summer when coho and chinook make their way in around august timeframe
