No, it isn't and there is no need for it. The JPA specification only defines that an update or insert statement has to be executed but not which columns it has to update. That Hibernate generates only 1 statement and reuses it for every insert/update, is a proprietary otimization. And that's why @DynamicInsert and @DynamicUpdate are Hibernate-specific annotations.
