A tradditional English garden is very rustic. Things are left to grow naturally and people tend to live around it, instead of the other way round. Mapperton is beautiful.

I always enjoy visiting a special, large garden. Today a double treat, a tour led by the Countess and the Head Gardener. Love the stories about about the Wisteria and the crab apples. Great to know what works, what "abundance" creates high maintenance. ("Shall we take it out?" No.)

The surrounding lands are a huge under taking for having lovely gardens. I can not imagine the time and man power needed to keep the grounds beautiful. It is very picturesque views from drone advantages. 😊

I adore a stately garden that’s been planted with all the fauna in mind, crabapples for winter birds, and bees in spring, the natural pool and the less formal areas full of shaded rambling flowers. I’s marvelous and fine balance of formal and more impressionistic areas! ❤️

I truly enjoy the videos featuring and featured by The Countess of Sandwich. This one with Mr. Lannin, the Head Gardener is beautiful and so informative, specially for someone like me that doesn't know anything about gardens nor gardening . I also enjoyed the editing. It was nice to hear the birds while admiring the crabapple tree tops. The aerial views were great and in my opinion they should be included in all your videos. FANTASTIC!!

Walnut trees are late to bud here in New York also, producing nuts only every other year. Thank you for taking such good care of your beautiful estate. More old homes need such dedicated people.

I used to go for walks with my grandfather, and he taught me the name for Queen Anne's Lace when I was little, so it feels very special for me! Never forgot the name. Wonderful to see it in the Mapperton Grounds. Steve seems a very kind and gentle soul. Enjoyed this video very much, thank you!

Queen Anne's lace is usually considered a weed and looks nice in a wild setting, but then I like the look of dandelions in the field in early spring.

The virtual tour is lovely to be able to listen birds and bees along with fascinating stories. We actually have two kinds of Wisteria native to Japan. W. floribunda twines to the right and W. brachybotrys twines to the left.

Such a lovely garden, it looks very relaxing. I love the clematis montana. I had a lovely one called Elizabeth, it had a lovely scent which wafted up into the upstairs windows. Then my husband got clever dickie and decided it would sprout again from the base so cut it down. But it never did, so he killed it.

Living in Oklahoma, USA we have NOTHING nearly this old to explore. We would have had it not been destroyed by settlers during the land run days. Everything here older than the 1900's is mostly in museums but there are still a few historical buildings prior. I am happy there are those willing to preserve history. It's very important!

Bees are amazing in early spring, we have orchard's around my house and when my maple trees first start to bud the bees also swarm the maple trees and you can hear a loud buzzing sound when you get near.

Can’t believe you only have climbing roses and not stock roses seeing you live in a manor roses were kinda the luxury in the gardens back then and roses can go up to 500 years old so I was kinda hoping to see more of the old original roses to the manor
