I prefer fishing the Mississippi right by my house. 12 to 15in perch are the norm and I only have to travel about 2 miles to catch bucket's full of em. Looked like a good day for ya though.

I was drifting or use the trolling motor to hold me in place. I was using a 7ft St Croix panfish series rod and a shimano Stradic Ci4 1000 reel.

@@JCDropshot Thank you. My kids want to actually catch some perch this year because we don't have very much luck out there with our smaller boat (17' deep v Bass Tracker w/40 hp motor) I don't feel to safe going out too far in that boat.
