The Painting : "The painting (1485) was done by imperial court painter in China's Ming Dynasty. It depicted the 9th generation Ming emperor Xianzong (Chenghua Emperor) was enjoying the great time with families in the Forbidden City during traditional Chinese Lantern Festival. There were lots of interesting activities in the festival such as acrobatics performances, operas, magic shows and setting off firecrackers. The night market decorated with beautiful lanterns was also set in the yard." (wiki)
The Music : Three Wishes of the Rose, an air written by Huang Zi, performed by Takako Nishizaki (violin), accompanied by Czecho-Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, directed by Peter Breiner.

I am told that today some Asian countries celebrate Spring Lantern Festival (also named Chinese Valentine's Day), find this painting which is so beautiful ... feel like looking at the paintings of Pieter Bruegel the Elder, in oriental style though.
