Another great video, Sue:) Everything is looking so beautiful and Springy!! It has been a wonderful weekend here in North Carolina with the perfect weather for planting perennials! I added several new plants to our woodland garden.....some astilbe, old fashioned bleeding hearts, brunnera, hostas, and a new plant called heaven scent Jacob's Ladder with fern-like foliage and bluish purple bell-shaped flowers! Mr. Hedgehog is super cute!!:)

That’s a great selection of perennials. I’ve never tried bleeding hearts or Jacobs ladder, you’ll have to let me know how they cope in a woodland setting. I’ve failed miserably with Astilbes. They appear every spring, look great in leaf but never flower. They where in dry shade from early summer so last Autumn I replanted them down in the bottom of the quarry in a damp area, fingers crossed.

@@thequarrygardener5578 I will definitely let you know how mine do, but I believe you will have better luck now that you've moved them as I have read they do not like to dry out:)

Hello and welcome and many thanks for subscribing 😊 I love wildlife as much as gardening so the channel will highlight both although something has eaten the lovely blue anemones I’ve only just planted so it’s not without its challenges!

Wow that’s a lot of bulbs. This video was one of my first on KZbin approx 1 year ago. A year on and I’m currently adding more alliums and daffodils, it’s an ongoing process. Thank you for watching and good luck with your bulb planting, you will have a fabulous display in the spring 😊

@@thequarrygardener5578 oh nice! I’m looking forward to watching the rest if your videos, subscribed already after watching 2 ❤️ I look forward to your spring update! Yes, I bought bulbs from a Dutch wholesaler so you can only buy large amounts. I kinda got carried away 😜😁 I got 900 mix parrot tulips, 300 extra large mix daffodils, 600 mother goose daffodils, 1,200 muscari. I’m excited to see how they look, but I’ve got a small garden so I might gorilla plant some of them on the walking paths i like to go on and maybe plant some in elderly neighbours lawns if they like. ❤️

I need to get a nice pulmonaria , a white and a blue, hopefully mildew resistant.

I grow many varieties, Sissinghurst white, very pretty & delicate but after many years is still a small plant in my garden. Blue ensign best for growing in large spaces (divides and spreads so easily), but for overall wow I grow trevi fountain and Opal because of the leaves. There are so many to choose from, many I haven’t grown yet. I also don’t suffer with mildew. They grow in incredibly dry conditions in my garden but I don’t have high humidity which can cause problems.
