A short look at the Spring River and its source, Mammoth Spring located in extreme Northeastern Arkansas. A beautiful place to visit, and a great river to float and fish for trout, smallmouth and largemouth bass. Also, I believe in the Oxford comma.

Canoed Spring River back in College. University of Memphis Alumni 🐾, Go Tigers! Having lived in West, Tennessee, close to the Mississippi River, and familiar with the Waterways of NW Tennessee, it was such a treat to be on water that was clear, with a stone foundation rather than mud and sand. I really like Arkansas, the geography, the beautiful vegetation and Waterways. Many wonderful memories of fun going to Hot Springs for Weekends at the Races, "Shakey Jake's", a Juke Joint on Lake Hamilton, and a vast number of folks enjoying the area, fun, cocktails, and positive experiences in my younger years I am considering Arkansas for a relocation of residence. It depends on the Feeling I get from the Folks in the areas I choose to check out. I desire the energies of Higher Minded aka Mature Minds, Open and far more Moderate, (Harmony is found in the Middle), and it matters not what others choice and beliefs are, as long as they are on the positive side and free of abuse to people, animals, nature. I just feel Arkansas is one of the most beautiful natural places in the USA and it could be the place I choose to make my spot of residence in the near future. Best Thoughts and Thanks for your sharing here, Beth Tennessee, USA

Thanks for watching and commenting! Some words from a native about Arkansas for relocation…this is a great place if you love nature and the outdoors. As far as finding a place with higher vibrational people, open minded, self aware, conscientious…look at northwest Arkansas for sure. Much more progressively minded in general for sure. Specifically what I think you’re looking for is Eureka Springs IMO. It is an expensive place to live to be sure, but the qualities it sounds like you’re looking for are all found there in large quantities. I have a dream of maybe living there someday myself. Just research it. Eureka is an incredible place, filled with people from all spiritualities, lifestyles and mindsets. It’s also small, absolutely gorgeous and very historic as well.

Tbh I don’t remember the name of who put us on river. I think I mention them by name in the vid. As far as the section of river goes I’m also not totally sure. I’ve slept since then lol and I’m getting old. It was towards the upper portion. Seems we started at the first available put in

LOL I watched this again and came to comment and see that I have commented here prior but having no recollection commenting it. I can attest to telling the truth and proof-reading but didn't GAS hahaha. I wanted to add about low water times at the Spring River. They actually can and do happen. Maybe not every year but I think 1983-4 was record heat and below rain fall and the underground water caches' tables get low meaning the Spring will also be low. Evaporation is very fast between the rocky straight up banks. Water will be cool as usual but very snaky and turtles Great Blue's, drawn to edges. Where you cross small white water will be just exposed razor-like rocks, some large rounded. Your one man and two man vessels will have to be lifted by hand off the small rock shelves that make the white water. After a shift at our ICU/CCU job, 12 of us started our weekend met in the hospital parking lot. The day nurses that had slept all night were drivers and us night nurses enjoyed the ride as the car bar was open. Just Bloody Mary, Moa Moa's. One of us wore flip flops, we gave her a sad face and a verbal warning pulled extra shoes from 3-4 of us but none fit her foot at all.. We didn't know yet the rive could be low, either. Flip flop nurse wanted the front canoe seat and paddle duties. So at the shelf she'd see first and call low water so you don't drag sharp rocks and sink. we were at the place where the banks are rocky and very steep. Her foot slipped into her flip flop and the toe broke so down she went sharp and round odd shapes of rock broke three ribs, cut by a sharp rock on her left hip side and her elbow and hand slide. Above that tall steep bank was the road. NO SUCH THING as a cell phone then so with 12 RN's we did our own rescue up the side with her rib cage secured with straight fresh cut one inch dia willow and field dressed her cuts with wash clots etc, several of us had peroxide for hair high-light's we cleaned her well, someone had hospital name brand Motrin and we gave her 1200 mg with ice cream and a Jack jigger enough sugar to make it syrup-like. Four carried in the canoe up the cliff, trading off or tagged out with the other four.. One nurse had one of those long Lincoln like Detective (Fatman) Canon Private Eye. High tailed about 110 mph holding those curves to a station to use the phone calling nearest ambulance. Our girl was in the ICU bed 3 and we thoroughly enjoyed taking care of her Nurse Flip Flop had two chest tubes, Morphine drip, many stitches but by God no infections. Made a full recovery. Oh two of us stayed at the canoes on the water. The driver and the nurse haha on duty in the car didn't have to switch up and carry They had coffee. Moral is Doi be aware the water can get lowish, You can see it where you put in, not much white water at that first shelf is the clue. Bye again. haha.

Nasty comment about Janis. Unbefitting of an otherwise great video

I do apologize if that offended you. It was intended to be humorous. It is a factual statement though and why I quoted it. Because it’s obviously ridiculous. I love Janis and personally think she was quite attractive in her life. And also thank you very much for the compliment on the video it is very much appreciated

@@WaywardStories I appreciate that you can respond to a likely genuine felt criticism, without being overly offended. It is a most positive experience on Social Media to observe a Higher Minded response. I look forward to Social Media reflecting far more Mature Minded exchanges. 24hr News Media has so fostered the unrealized in their fear based thoughts and the Ego Minds Adolescent like behaviors in exchanges in Comment Sections. It "was" a time, these past 5 years, from that we have great opportunities to evolve. Thanks for sharing, and for being Mature of Mind, we all make unintentional bloopers from time to time.
