Spring Salmon in the summer West of Ireland River Moy Part2

This is where the fun begins when the fish decides to run down a few pools. East Mayo Anglers stretch of the Moy in Co Mayo, Ireland. I was using a Vision XO Graphene 9’3” that chucked a #5 and tarted up with the matching reel.

It’s very narrow for east Mayo’s water it looks more like Bolans below the bridge at swinford, the club your referring to is south Sligo anglers who are taking payment from anglers and the club no longer exists so you won’t be insured on the river while fishing

Is there a way to find out what stretches of the Moy are controlled by who and how much is charged and if there is any free fishing with a salmon and sea trout license? I'm about an hours drive from Mayo/Sligo county border.

It's quite easy. From the Foxford /Swinford road bridge downstream there is no free access, but all accessible through variuos association and private day permits. From the bridge up it is free thought there is a stretch up near Aclare that has a controlled stretch and you can join or get a season ticket for a good price. You will need to check out with probably the Tiernan Brothers in Foxford for who controls where.
