Let’s decorate my deck for Spring & Summer with an Americana flare, using antiques, primitives and flowers. We’ll take a short trip to the antique mall to find a perfect piece for my deck and we’ll also plant several primitive containers with plants and flowers.

Dear Bridgett - So beautiful as always! I always enjoy your planting and decorating videos because for many years I’ve planted the same annuals as you - staples for sure and like you said - we know what works from year to year. Red and white geraniums, asparagus ferns, creeping Jenny, white bacopa and whatever pretty blue annuals I can throw in the mix. The last few years I’ve gone with mostly white and lime green annuals (in shady areas) as it shows up so pretty in the evening. Your deck is gorgeous with your primitive furniture. I love it, Bridgett! So, so pretty for summer. Wanted to tell you, my husband already killed a copperhead in our driveway one evening at the edge of dark, and I had a black snake at the barn after my baby chicks. We leave them alone unless they decide to hunt around the barn. Love your videos, sweet lady.

Everything looks lovely 🥰 I used 2 aluminum buckets for my hanging baskets… I also use geraniums for my window boxes.. I get so excited 🎉 for spring so I can buy my flowers for the spring/summer garden… I have to spray my plants with rabbit repellent…snakes don’t scare me 🫣 but spiders are my worst nightmare lol 😆 I enjoyed watching you decorate your porch so much too!!! Bridgett, I have a terrible deer problem also. Tell your daughter I found a flower that they do not touch. It’s cleome or sometimes called spider plant. It reseeds itself and I think it’s beautiful. I love your videos. 💕🪴

I love your deck with its Patriotic touches. Such a beautiful place to sit and relax. Love all your flowers too. We have a deer problem too so we spray Liquid fence on everything they love to it. They eat our hostas, summer phlox, oriental and Asiatic and daylily buds. The liquid fence does work and it doesn’t hurt the flowers. The main thing is to shake it up thoroughly before you spray. Just gorgeous! You have made your back deck as warm and welcoming as the inside of your home. Just wondering, if you move the pails with the holes in them off the furniture when you water. How to you keep the wood from getting damaged in the rain?? I hesitate to put wood and fabric out for that reason. Have a great day!! 😊

Bridgett you done a fabulous job I love all your personal touches & that pc you bought looks perfect & we’ll be great storage as well lol & the bucket is perfect ❤ I had to lol when you were talking about losing your shovel I do the same thing & @ Christmas I loose tape & scissors that is a good idea to paint the handle I use to be bad to loose the dust pan😂 but thank God I don’t have that problem using a shark vacuum & a dry swifter before I mop my floors cut down on dust 😊 anyway sweet lady you done a great job 😊

Your deck looks so good. The new piece fit in perfect. Little tip i put coffee filters in the bottom of my pots before the dirt. Water still comes out but not the dirt. I love geraniums but to hot in Florida

I battled the deer for years living in the Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania. The don’t eat the ornamental grasses. They are perennials too.

I have a problem with deer too and I live in a residential area. I use Bonide Repels-All Animal Repellent Granules that I purchased from Amazon. I also research my plant choices and choose ones that are deer resistant. Boxwood, marigolds, lavender, yarrow and lamb’s ear are just a few I’ve had success with.

Bridgett, I feel your daughter's pain on the deer eating plants they aren't "supposed" to like here on the Plateau. My sedum and oak leaf hydrangeas get eaten... Another remedy to help ..use Carolina Reeper hot sauce diluted with water so it can be added to a spray bottle. Spray the plants and once the deer taste the heat they stay away from it. Just make sure to wash your hands right away. Good Luck! Paula
