As a McCoy descendant, I love McCoy pottery! I inherited so many pieces from my relatives. Such great collector items! 😊 My absolute favorite thrifting find was an old mathematics book made in 1800! I put it in my old secretary 😊

My mother's cook book was the American Woman's Cookbook given to her by her mother on her wedding day. That was in 1948. I have it but not in as good of shape. She cooked many a recipe from that book. Sweet memories. I know you will enjoy it.

Hi Maranda. Your enthusiasm over each purchase is so refreshing. So many young adults are not interested in thrifting or collecting older pieces. I have three kids in their forties and their taste is totally different than mine. Which is ok I guess but a little bit disheartening. My mother loved rooster and hens in her chicken and I love them in mine. Of course in all fairness to my kids, I grew up in the country, they grew up in the city. I hope we will always have books to read at least while I'm stilling living. I just love the look and feel of opening a book and turning the pages. Maranda, you are just so sweet. I appreciate your style you are creating for your home and being PATIENT and gradually picking out your purchases. I definitely liked and subscribed to your channel. Can't wait for each new visit. I think the key is really going to rural places! Pieces just like this are covering all our thrift shops because the county folks of older generations around here are now passing down their heirlooms or getting rid of items for various reasons but these are the items that has always filled their country homes here in rural Kentucky so that’s why I see so many old pieces I feel like. Try to find small country towns and I swear that’s where the best finds are! Anytime I go to a much bigger city I do not hardly see any antiques and if so they are way out of my price range! So try that if you are able to, I hope that helps! ♥️

I love all the treasures you found. When I met my husband he had a whole house full of McCoy his wife that died collected it. We sold a lot of it when we had our store and then auctioned some off. I still have some left. I just love all the soft greens and pinks and blues for spring. Looking forward to seeing your bedroom come together.

Yes, I started decorating in cottagecore/ country cottage style back in 2019/2020 but this past year I’ve been stuck in a rut with decorating and I was not feeling inspired in our space. Thankfully I’m out of that now and have found my passion for decorating and creating spaces again so I’m coming back into my true style. I’m sad I lost hold of that last year but I think I had to go through that to fall in love with my passions again. Thank you for being here ♥️
