JCaesar007 Thanks, even when I made it, I didn't value it that much. I thought it lacked a touch of a great editing tool, but I guess what worked was showing the gameplay features that are unique to Total Annihilation as an RTS.

I played TA back in the days when Red Alert had only just hit the shelves, and loved it then. Playing it on the Spring engine really brought back some memories, and its still just as enjoyable all these years later. The interface isnt as user friendly as the original and sometimes it bugs, but you guys really have a good thing going here. Keep up the good work!

The easiest way to get Spring "mods" is probably trough the Zero-K lobby. You don't need the original TA to play it, though since some mods have the units (not to mention most of the game philosophy) taken from TA, you might legally need to own TA to play those mods (just like you're supposed to own the console games if you want to play them on an emulator on the PC).

Unless things have changed, you use 'C' key to go into first person view while having a single unit selected.

@Solkovsky hell yeah the mod works, there are many different types of AI for it each with its own strategy, and about 95% of its units (well at least in Balanced Mod) are from OTA

It might have been in very early versions of Spring, but not now. Check TA3D project, which uses all file formats from TA. Note: Spring is a game engine. At the time I made this trailer it was common to name most TA games as mods, since they used copyrighted content.

Awesome! That is just incredible! Evidently, Latvians have some bad ass programming skills. The game looks beautiful and you used the theme of one of my all time favorite PC games. Plus, the 3rd party units from the original games can be imported. Not to mention the fact that you can download it for free. Hot damn! It kinda does. Complete Annihilation was the early stages of Zero-K. No one plays CA anymore. Since most of the developers went to make CA without OTA assets. So to become Zero-K.

@pelvist Yeah Chris Taylor. There is a mod for terrain deform and it works lovely :P, and yeah sad it wasn't built in but hey, i'll live with the mod :D. Supcom's unit limit is at 1000? That's higher than any RTS i know of? (I got a mod to get it up to 2000 per player ^ ^, but again, a mod) What is the limit for TA?

Originally 250, IIRC, but there's a patch to raise the limit to 9,999 units.

i wonder if the makers of tech annihilation will add some more units to there vast amount of units. i think it would be great to have a C.O.R.E. in there plus the insanely huge battle ships from the origional total annihilation mod escalation. which personaly are better then any that are currently on spring.

Planetary Annihilation got $2.2mil in donations yet they'll sell the game for much more than that and it will ALL be benefit since they got waaay more than the 900k they needed to start. And aside from the game itself donators get nothing of the revenues they'll make. I'd buy a share of PA or even shares of the Uber company but if I'm to donate 20$ I much rather give them to the Spring project that do the same as Uber but open source for free, and for all platforms, in short : for the community.

You can't choose. The "default" weapon is used. You can have the game's AI fire for you and it will use all weapons though.

This game is absolutely awesome. They took the best parts of TA and made them better. I love how you can arange your troops just by drawing a line. I just wish there were more AI's to choose from in B.A. Are there any download sites for additional (working) AI's? Google is difficult to navigate when dealing with Spring RTS queries.

@3876samf Its like 2 years ago that installation was hard...Now it basically download the stuff for you when you try to join a game... Thing is, this stuff is 3rd party mods, hence they cannot install them during the installation.

ya i check my C drive and i do have cursors but when i try to open it I get this error 'cursors' is not a valid mapmod it may be corrupted, try to redownload it. & it's the same for the other files there maphelper and springcontent

SupCom did try to recreate TA... IMO, they failed, but the game is still pretty good, it's more complex and strategic, and longer, so if you don't like that kind of game I can understand. I still prefer TA though... Tin Can Carnage!!!!!
