I live in Lake Junaluska area, not on the grounds and we have a couple of small springs on our property. I would like to get you to help us capture this water, but we need some help.

I just used this video to do our own… blue barrel, cut the collar, put the fittings in and used about 15# of concrete to build a dam- we have 2.2 gal a minute. This is our main water source- live how we are catching all of it now. Would love to send you some pics and video. :) thanks for your great videos!

How often would you have to clean out in behind your blue plastic
@basecampwnc17457 ай бұрын
That will depend on if the spring is flowing through a crack in the rock then you will not have a sediment problem If your spring is coming to the surface through dirt then depending on how many gallons per minute your getting you may build up sediment behind the spring dam I need to clean out mine about every 5 years

Thank you for sharing this knowledge I’m in Kentucky got water seeping out of the ground all around me, what or how do you recommend I test it we used pool strips and it’s very low alkaline,ph etc. makes my hands so soft when I’m working on my setup., I have had to do 2 boxes and 2 inline filters about ready to fill water tank so glad I found your channel

Why didn’t you show us all of that you told us that you were going to use that hydraulic cement but then you cut to the Blue collection thing in place that’s kind of crappy I was looking forward to seeing the process

If you have cement on you it is very hard to film as is sets up so fast

@@basecampwnc1745 Thank you sir. I am using the same system on a beautiful spring I discovered on my wife's family's property in Pennsylvania. I originally packed it in with clay from the site of the spring but it has started to seep and I'm losing pressure. I will try again with the quickrete 🤞

@GiliusThunderhead I use two products to seal spring dams one is Bentonite clay this is used to seal the top of wells to keep surface water from entering a well Then hydraulic cement because it will setup underwater. This is what they use to seal cracks in concrete swimming pools and concrete water pipes It’s sold by Lowe’s and Ace Hardware as leak stopper A 10 pound plastic tub is about $22.00

@@basecampwnc1745 Thanks for the information. I may need to pickup some clay to seal the top of the dam. Right now it's just filled with rocks and then I put a plastic sheet over top of that, and then mud/clay mixture on top of that. Pure clay would probably keep ground water out better though.
