I watched Sallie’s video as well. I have learned so much from both videos! Thank you! I love your sign too! I like that it is vintage looking, it makes it a little different than what you see. I am new to the laser world. I got my Thunder 35/100 in February and I love it! I am still learning about settings and just starting to be brave at trying to align precut items. I noticed you didn’t have your honeycomb tray in. What is the advantage to not using it? I am going to watch the acrylic video you mentioned next. I would love to see more on acrylic as I haven’t tried it yet. I have joined your FB group and I am so thankful for videos like this! Thank you! 😊

Welcome to the Laser World - it’s fun here! I tend to keep my crumb tray out to minimize risk of flashback on items . If you have something that you need to keep completely flat, you’ll need it in so you can use hold down pins or magnets, but I cut a lot of acrylic and the extra air movement plus no heat bouncing off the back of the honeycomb works well for me!

I'm just getting started with a Glowforge Pro. I have been thinking that I want to cut the graphics and lettering for my signs from acrylic instead of painting. I really appreciate your videos!

I’m not the best painter so acrylic is a BIG savior for me!

Thank you for the tutorial and tips! Turned out super cute! How do you plan to hang this if you were to put it on a door or wall? Some customers do not want holes for ribbon, would love to know your thoughts. Thanks!

I’d add either a sawtooth hanger for the wall or some d-rings and some wire so it could be hidden on the back - tough part would be the screws with that because this one isn’t very thick! Because it is thin/light - I’ve seen people super glue a sawtooth backer that they made on their laser! I’ve also used command strips on something this light with success. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Thanks Katie! Question - what are the two fonts you used in this sign? Thanks!

Hey @laserNUG! Nice to see you here :) the script one is called ball pen: creativemarket.com/VladCristea/1100685-Ball-Pen-Handwritten-Font and the other is called Indigo - creativemarket.com/OnTheSpotStudio/25392-Indigo

How long was the engraving time?

About 45 minutes - for the darkness I wanted, probably would have been closer to an hour
