Great video and i would never have guessed that the tree would have been cut back that fire! Cheers, Xav
@smalltrees2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I didn't really have a lot of other options unless I wanted the tree to be a lot taller. It is in an awkward in-between stage right now but hopefully it will look a lot better as it grows a little more.

@@smalltrees So true - this is probably one of the hardest things for newer bonsai enthusiasts to master. Go big, Go bad, Go better :)

Great to see more videos from u! Tree is looking good
@smalltrees2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I think it will get a lot better within a couple of years. There's another video coming out in about 2.5 hours and that tree is an absolute mess, so it will be interesting to see how it progresses (or if it flops).

Greetings from Alaska! Great to see you uploading again. I enjoy and learn from all of your videos but really hoping to see how your trees planted on wire mesh are doing. I have two varieties of crabapple and some maples native to Alaska that I’m hoping to use your root techniques on in the Spring. Which is April, here ;). Living vicariously through your channel until then :)
@smalltrees2 жыл бұрын
Hey there! I'm interested to see as well. They didn't seem to grow as well as I would have hoped, but maybe the roots have done something interesting. I'll keep on working, and hopefully you'll see some neat things to try when you finally thaw out.

Looking good. Big chops. I'm curious how long it would take to heal the large lower cut. Looking forward to seeing updates on your other projects as well.
@smalltrees2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, this one was a bit of a mess. I haven't actually looked at it since the spring, so I have no idea what it looks like right now. I'll probably focus on that lower cut when I work it. Hopefully the forming callous is smooth. For this weekend, I'm going to try to get most of my pomegranates dug, and then work the tree in this video along with two others. I may edit and release a video of one of the others tonight if I have time.

@@smalltrees It wasn't a critique. I would have probably made the same chops. Looking forward for the next video.

Greetings from Poland! Next time when u have that kind of work try to use dremel. Its way easier to make it clean and remove all wood you need.
@smalltrees2 жыл бұрын
Hello! When I filmed this, i didn't know where my removal bits were located for the dremel. I have bought a new set for this year's work.

Kind comment Diggin the big chop! I can see what you mean on the angle/taper. But you’d have to lose that first branch to get it. Lookin good, brother.
@smalltrees2 жыл бұрын
Kind reply I don't think I got there with the cut on this video. I imagine that I'll have to pay it some attention when I work it this weekend. Hopefully it will get there. Thanks man, I appreciate it.

Updates on the fusion project soon?
@smalltrees2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I'm not sure when it will be done, probably in a month or so. I am going to move it to a different location this year to try to speed up the growth a little. It still has most of its leaves as well so it needs a little time to rest before it gets worked on.
