In my country we usually mix the oat seed with cattle grass seed, on autumn we sow, and then at the beggining of May we cut it and we make hay bales. Or simply we just sow oat and on summer we harvest the seed and storage it for making food for animals. It's very rare that we make silage on this way. We make it usually from corn only.

I would like to get a modest silage harvest on the first year also. Will see how it turns out. Others have had success with this system.

It's quite dry . We had some rain and experting some more next week. Average temp is still quite low and we still have frost during the nights

Very good. It is interesting to see the different soils, and the equipment necessary to work it. Here, North Carolina, USA, is red clay, only good for cotton or peanuts. Other than that, won't hardly grow weeds. We used to grow tobacco, but the government has ruined that industry.

We just disc two times after plowing with a similar tool as Yours, this keeps the stones down a bit. What seedmix, in Norway its mostly Thimothy based.

Not much. I think 60hp should be ok. Maybe even 40hp. Yes, it's made in Finland.

True. And I am moving to that direction - no-till I mean. In our climate you cannot escape rocks because cold lifts the rocks during the winter and they just come on the surface.

@@hrz4x4 I watched the documentary in Russia, actually in Syberia in one town, cold lift the coffins with dead on graveyard, and after 10-11 years they have to bury them again.

If they bury them below the frost zone then it's ok. We have also depth recommendations for house foundations and water lines so they are not altered by the frost. My main house water lines are about 1,5-2m (~6 ft) deep in the ground.

mõte on iseenesest hea aga tekivad mõned aga kohad. esiteks võib traktori jõust puudu tulla, esimese masina konstruktsioon on liiga nõrk ja läheb teise masina tõmbamisega pooleks. mainimata veel kogu selle kaadervärgi ümberpööramist, mis nõuab siis väga palju ruumi.

Rulli ja külvikut kokku? Raskeks ja pikaks läheb. Külvik on vist kuskil 2500-2800kg ja rull on ka seal 3500-4000kg vahel (vett täis).

Pigem pidasin seda 1-2 etappi silmas. Need tundusid nagu kergemad.

Kõik õige. Järelvaates oleks võinud isegi 1 etapi vahele jätta, oleks võibolla 6 tundi aega võitnud. Aga kuna see põld oli kuumaastik, siis iga nühkimine tegi teda natukene rohkem siledamaks.
