I like your tip with the concrete forming tubes for leather storage. I've been storing my leather in the boxes it ships in but they're kinda crushable when you stack up a couple. I have an arbor press for riveting and I put a strong magnet on front to hold my rivet setter, it's harder to lose this way and speeds things up when I have a bunch of rivets to set. I cut a lot of straps and the best small space way I've found to do it is a plastic folding table. You can store the table when you're not using it and it doubles as something you can use at live events. I was using a 4' steel ruler to square the edges before using a strap cutter, but recently got an 8' cutting guide (can be taken apart to be a 4' cutting guide) at Home Depot, it was like $25 and came with two C clamps (which don't fit my table, but still nice).

great tips Ted. Might have to try that magnet tip. Thanks for watching!

Just discovered your channel and I loved then tour. I'm in the process of growing my hobby (obsession) into a retirement income, and you gave me a lot of ideas on tools I'll want to invest in. Working out of a former guest bedroom about the same size as your space, I'd thought I'd have to find a bigger spot but I think I just need to become more efficient in layout. Thanks for some wonderful ideas. Also enjoyed the stand-up routine (don't forget to tip your waitstaff)

I notice you have both wooden based and acrylic based die cuts. Which one you think is more durable and perform better ? I'm thinking to make one but not sure which to choose as I never use before.
@SpringbokCraftCo
@SpringbokCraftCo Жыл бұрын
I feel like durability is not too different, but the acrylic is just so much better because you can see the leather you're punching. It's much easier to maximize space with the acrylic. And you can also much more easily position it around parts of the leather that's not usable.
