Salmaan is the perfect captain. You can just see it from a mile away. Been watching him from his school days and he has always been massive, not only as a player, but certainly also as a leader. Can't wait for him to lead the Boks to RWC 2027. In Manie and Sacha we now have incredible 10s! Playmakers par excellence! However, in our quest to play a more expansive game, we will have to not neglect our defensive efforts. That, to me, was our weak point against both the Irish and the Portuguese today. But then again, the cards did play a massive part in our defensive lapses today. GO BOKKE!

@@brendonwilliams5709 Salmaan was already identified as a future Bok captain as a schoolboy and was penciled in as a RWC 2023 team member ... but then suffered a horrendous injury which kept him out of the game for more than a year. He's on the come-back trail now and is seen as an enforcer lock, not a lineout specialist. He'll hit his straps sooner or later.

Seven players made their debut today, and only 2 players that played in the World Cup Final, played today, RG and KLA. Our discipline let us down, but unlike Ireland, our players did not intentionally try to take players out of the game. Springboks ranked number 1, and 4 times World Champions. Eat your little green heart out. ;)

Frankly, the Bok tackling has been absolutely brilliant in the RWC and the Irish tests. I can only think of a few high tackles (say Siya's) in the whole period. Low and hard. Unfortunately, Esterhuizen's - despite what Victor Matfield says - technique is woefully bad, which I squarely blame on playing in England, and even after he's served his ban really shouldn't be in the team as he's obviously a danger to them. Fair enough, yesterday it was quite good the Boks had one man short, as it gave Portugal a bit of a chance.

Im not convinced about Salman's position let alone him to be given the captaincy ahead of Lukhanyo and RG...I still have PTSD from that Bizzy/Smit debacle and I really thought we learned our lessons about appointing statesmen as skippers... Salman still needs to prove himself bcoz even at WP it was morally wrong for Dobson to pick him ahead of a hard working Adre Smith after a lengthy time off let alone make him captain, lets also not forget Ruben van Heerden is a specialist 4 lock as well... Ludwig, Steenkamp and the young blonde lock all have excelled at the Bulls in the 4 jersey... One thing about the Rassie era there has always been integrity in selection, guys work their arses off to get there and he has addressed transformation better than any other coach in history through that intergity in selection: in 2018 Siya was the only franchise captain in the squad when the highly expected Whiteley got injured, Vermeulen was overseas based too so his selection was on merit..I hope we don't go back to the Meyer,Coetzee and Pdiv eras of coaches favourites getting picked no matter what bcoz Moerats selection and rapid elevation really makes no rugby sense

Make the pitch even harder and book the All Blacks into a 2 🌟 motel somewhere in the kalahari. Start Pollard at 10. Sasha at 15.( he could be our next Percy). Springboks fielded a experimental B team, they are building depth with 7 debutants in this game, and with a man down and with 2 men down at times, so yes the newbies must improve their discipline, they made some silly mistakes
