I'm glad SA didn't abandon the XD line. I like the grip safety because I carry appendix pretty often. It sets them apart from other quality striker fired polymer pistols. The price point is great... that's a lot of gun for the money.

@@Aurelius00 Usually smaller pistols like xds or hellcat but with the right holster and a loose fitting shirt, this mid sized XD should be fine.

Just picked one up the other day and it’s definitely a steal. The XD series has always been one of my favorite firearms. Also, for anyone who may be struggling to find holsters, I found out that the Mod 3 fits perfectly in a Crucial Concealment XDM 4” holster.

@@9MilRidge you were right, I love it. Took her to the range to get familiar with it and test some defensive rounds. Probably put about 100 rounds through, but there were no fails and I’m happy to say that my old standby V crown 124 grain proved to be the most accurate. Looking forward to putting a lot more rounds through it.

XD was purpose built for military use. They are very durable and reliable. They have been torture tested much like the HK. I have two they have never failed and will cycle any ammunition.

I owned the xd9 defender and the xd9 grip zone loved them great firearms I had to got rid of them due to Parkinson’s could not rack them anymore have to s&w equalizer and 380ez bit if they every come out with a light or ez rack xd9 I will get another

I own two original XD's, a 9 and a .45, and both have always been good guns, even after I moved to other designs. I kind of want to try out one of these Mod. 3's, tho. Seems like a good update to the design. The only thing that may be an issue for people that run an optic is that the top mounted extractor may fling brass right into your optics window with every shot. I've had that issue before with other guns, and it's always annoying. I might give one a try though and just see how it does.

I am very pleased with my XD9 4.0 Mod 2 and nearly bought the same pistol in .45ACP with four magazines, OEM paddle holster for $300 and passed. What a mistake that was. I have no reason to upgrade to the Mod 3 but for those of you who are on the fence buy the XD and you will not be disappointed.

Echelon is 4.5” XD is 4”. Mags are more capacity is echelon, echelon better sights, price is half for XD, echelon interchangeable back straps without grip safety, echelon also doesn’t need plates for red dots so you can cowitness with irons. XD requires a plate for everything from what I’ve seen. Honestly the XD feels better in hand. This is a great buy for $289

As far as accuracy goes I would say they're both equal, I can shoot both out to 50 yards on a 12-in by 14-in steel plate no problem.

I don't understand in the least when you say meh on it being made in Croatia, every gun that I own is foreign except 1 and never had one single issue with the foreign ones, the one that has failed me numerous times has been my American made pile of shit Armalite AR-10, terrible gun. First AR ever bought and will be my last. There are so many other badass .308 rifles out there but the AR platform is so over done and yes I'm American, I buy what works.

I actually really like Springfield. Honestly not sure why I said meh. My favorite pistol from them is the Echelon and Hellcat Pro Comp. Also Echelon compact video is coming soon.
