Thank you everyone for your very kind words. There will be more BTS content and discussions over the coming weeks. Please leave us a review and rating on IMDb. And if you REALLY want, why not make a video review for KZbin?? This really was a labor of love for all concerned. We were very humbled by all who gave of their time, talent and considerable skill. And of course none of it works without Richard’s writing, direction and editing!👏

When I read "Source replacement farts immediately" I was like HARR HARR HARR THATS SO LIKE JACKSON TO WORK FARTS INTO THE SCRIPT HARR HARR" and it was a good five seconds before I realised it said "parts". I may have been stoned AF but for that 5 seconds I was in a world of puerile Chortling.

This was an awesome project to work on. Richard let me do whatever I wanted, which is my favorite kind of gig. Both of you were more than patient with me on the head scan situation, thanks for bearing with me, but it made the effects that much better. 🙏 That and having an actual budget for roaches! 😂 I love the dark humor and the very VVB spirit of this film. Definitely deserved all the rewards it got, and more. Encore! 👏

This was fun to watch. Video game nostalgia crossed with a "battle of good versus evil" Please tell me that the Jupiter arcade is going to be a new guest on future episodes of Val Verde. Or, to make it more light hearted, special guests can "climb out" of the Jupiter arcade game. There could be some joke that they escaped with their life at the last moment.

Just caught this screening at the local community centre. It was fascinating to hear Liam talk about the sound design and music that went into making the film. It maintained a hum of excitement throughout, blending nostalgia and building synth scores, together with dissonance and darkness. Believable acting and enough comedy to make it entertaining and lovable, while still creating a sense of dread and mystery. I can clearly see the passion and teamwork that went into producing this cool short. :)

Follow up comment: really REALLY well done chaps. It really ramps up as it goes, and frankly I was blown away by the end. The direction writing, acting, practical effects, some really beautiful shots. Skills. I know its annoying when people give unasked for advice, but it might be worth sending a link to KZbin Movie nice-guy Chris Stuckman. He's worked hard to get his foot on the first rung of the movie making ladder, and is ever more vocal in his coverage of indie and new filmmakers and the proceas of becoming film makers. I think he'd love this, maybe cover it in some capacity, and maybe would be someone good to have on side for advice and contacts if you are gonna do more. I hope you do.

Holy crapola! Oi, Jackson! I know you've done the exact same thing as "Doug" in this. Spent, your mispent days playing Ye Ar Kung Fu on a C64 with joystck?? Or even Way of the Fist on Spectrum keyboard. Little story about that folks, sorry. My older brother and I were bought a C64 because my dad wanted a "computer system". My friend at the time had a Spectrum 48K which was mega stable, with a tape loader for games etc. Now, out C64 rarely loaded the games we bought on tape? So I'd go off and get a game that was out on Spectrum, try loading it on C64 and never got there!! Example, that rail shooter Operation Wolf! My mate got it, played it, finished it on his ZX. I never even got to play it. Tape. Great game. So to play it "properly" we had to go to the video arcade. Do Val Verde even remember "video arcade"? You'd have a arcade cabinet game that became popular then some cunt would try to put it on a home computer. Brilliant. We are the first generation ever to be able to play computer games with our children. If you have them of course. I think that that;s really cool! And now people with cash are collecting arcade cabinets?? (Dudes, i;ve got a PS1 original boxed). We're old now folks. I mean, I were looking at how the people that we're employing. As an almost 50 year old grumpy arse, "I don't understand their stupid fashions" "Bloody kids and their weird fashions" We had exactly the same thing from our folks! I don't get the kids any more. Why does that mean I have to bow down to their demands? My mum and Dad probablt felt the same way in the 90s. Some advice wouldn't go amis. PS. One of my favourite games of that time was Geoff Capes Strong Man! One of the only tapes that worked actually.

Brilliant stuff, this must be my 3rd watch of it, and I keep noticing new details. I love how much thought went into this - Doug starts a new saved game in slot 2, but clearly Andy has already been playing the saved game in slot 1... Also - when Doug's gambling game goes off, he's terrified by it the second time, when he'd been super casual about it the first time. Is the Jupiter misguiding him by making him think he has to kill Andy...? Or is it hoping that maybe they'll have a crazy fight to the death and benefit from survival of the fittest...? (Yeah, Richard, I'm fanwanking your amazing film, what of it ;) ) My main takeaway is this though: If the Jupiter P55 was ahead of its time, maybe it was seeing forward to a time when people would be susceptible to manipulation by social media algorithms and clickbait (if even subtly), by recommendations which gradually alter one's preferences and political outlook, but just as the P55 doesn't care about its "players" so long as it gets a new processor, ultimately social media companies don't care what you're watching so long as you give them your attention and your clicks. Perhaps just my take, but this film has lots of resonances for me! Perhaps I'll even write a blog about it.

Excellent work, gentlemen. Quite an achievement considering the budgetary limitations. Creative, immersive and atmospheric. Loved it! If I were to have one major criticism, it would be the blasphemy. As a Bible-believing Messianic Jew, I found that aspect of the writing to be a tad lazy and irritating. For me, personally, it always comes down to the same question: of all the names, why that one as a cuss word? But, I still really enjoyed it and am very proud of all your incredible work. Duncan was, unsurprisingly, wonderful as always but the standout was your direction, Richard. Very professional! Sorry it took me so long to watch and comment. Hope you're both well!
