Or at least use something that is less intrusive, think of the sounds of a slack notification, a new mail in the inbox, a notification on the phone, the chime when a twitch streamer gets a new subscriber while streaming, those are more subtle

postgres should support distribution instead of leaving the field to other players like cockroach or yuga. however you're saying boring is good, but yugabytedb is not boring because it's not long time tried and tested. so yeah caution with your line of argument
