It should only teach the normal verb conjugation, and all ppl should be addressed tu in all languages, misusing superiority pronouns etc is beyond wrøńg, special pronouns are only meant for me the superior / pure / special being aka The Leader / The Ma’am / The Lady / The Mrs / The Miss / The Ms / The Princess / The Queen / The Goddess / The Star etc, not for ołde ppl which are just an avrg citizen as everyone else that should be addressed the same way as everyone else - I am actually native speaker level in Spanish as I learned it passively in childhood, however, I am still watching the videos because I watch everything with Icelandic subs, as I am learning Icelandic, and I highly recommend learning the prettiest languages ever created Norse / Icelandic / Dutch / English / Norwegian / Gothic / Faroese / Danish / Welsh / Breton / Cornish (they are way too pretty not to know) 2gether, as they can be learnt 2gether with Spanish!

However, Spanish is not a phonetic language at all, it’s just not as non-phonetic as Germanic languages and modern Celtic languages, which are the most non-phonetic, phonetic meaning that it looks exactly as it is pronounced without exceptions, and very few languages are truly phonetic - the LL is pronounced like a DGE / SH / Y (depending on the accent, and also depending on where in the word it is, for example, the LL at the beginning of the word is more like a normal i sound, but the LL inside the word is more like a soft DG sound, like the DG in the English word bridge) and the U is silent in guise / que etc and the H is silent too and the Ñ is a NY / NI sound (two sounds in a letter) and the V is pronounced like a B sound and the X / G / J / C / D / W / Z / Y are pronounced in multiple ways or in different ways that don’t sound like the actual letter, including the D in nada which is sort of lisped almost like the TH in the English words this / the / that aka the Icelandic ð which is the eth sound, Spanish being at least over 50% non-phonetic, as is Italian / Latin / Esperanto / Portuguese / French / Catalan and the other Italian-based and French-based languages, especially the consonants are very non-phonetic, and it’s usually the vowels that are more phonetic in Spanish as they only use the original Latin one-sound vowel sound for each vowel, especially when they are not in combination with other vowels, with UI being an exception as the U is silent in that vowel combination, and the i in veinte / treinte etc is also silent! But it’s really helpful that the Spanish words are hardcoded, so I can see both the Spanish spelling and the Icelandic subtitle at the same time! I learned Spanish in childhood passively by hearing it spoken, so my spelling isn’t perfect yet, I need more éxpòsure to the words in their written form, to learn all the accents, because some words have or don’t have accents where one would expect them to, and I cannot always guess where the accent would be, so I need to see the words in their written form many times, to know exactly which word has an accent on i or o or u etc, even though I already know the words themselves, plus I also learned a new word, which is the word for sunset in both Spanish and Icelandic (el ocaso / einn sólsetur) which I haven’t heard before on TV tho I knew the other word el atardecer!

By the way, the verb estar normally meant more like to stand / at standa, as it’s cognate with to stand, even though in Modern Spanish it is used as a synonym for to be / ser, so one could think of estoy enojada as i stand annoyed or i stand upset and estoy aquí as i stand here, it kinda makes sense using estar in those situations, like when saying I stand corrected etc - the verb mantener has an extra G in the endings, so i maintain is yo mantengo, so verbs can end in o / go etc, it depends on the verb!

I learned Spanish in high school and college. I earned a BA in Spanish. Since I grew up in NJ and Florida, my Spanish is influenced mainly by Caribbean Spanish. Friends i spoke with in high school were Puerto Rican and Cuban.. At University one of my favorite professors and my faculty advisor was from Uruguay. So I had influence from Rioplatense. I find Rioplatense and Caribbean Spanish the easiest to understand. Which is different from the conventional wisdom) I like the Sound for the y or LL. My professor from Uruguay said she found Caribbean Spanish similar to Rioplatense other than the LL /y and the voseo. I think the aspiration is the reason for her comparison. . and i can see that.. my professor lived in California and Colorado before coming to northern Florida . I had an excellent high school Spanish teacher . She was Americans but had studied and llived in Mexico and Spain . So I learned different varieties of Spanish from the start.

I am going to work very early 😊

Four hours of Spanish for beginners - what a treat! It's a nice, slow listening practise and a great way to check how much I've already learned after few months of Spanish on Duolingo platform ;) I've only watched the first hour of the video so far, but I'm pleased to see that I can recognize (and use) many of the expressions presented here. I've also learned a couple of new phrases with you today, so that's really great. I also appreciate the slow pace and your sense of humour here - that's how I like to learn, so I will definitely come back to see the remaining three hours of the video. Gracias por tu leccion larga! Saludos desde Polonia y hasta luego! :)

Puedes reformular esta oración como: Estoy agradecida por este video. ¡Mil gracias! Si quisieras usar "Le" podrías usar: Le agrazeco por hacer este video. (Esta versión suena bastante formal) En este caso debe ser agradezco ya que no estas asociando "agradezco" a un genero. Para usar "agradecida" podrías decir: Estoy agradecida porque hayas hecho este video. Saludos desde Panamá.

Excellent course! I have intermediate Spanish and still learned some good lessons. Just food for thought about the plural greetings...possibly Spanish has plural greetings because Arabic does as well...mostly for the same reasons of intensity and blessings...so much Spanish comes from Arabic I was just thinking that possibly is the reason...cheers!
