Great video, the hatchery footage is fantastic. Some nice areas. Too bad you couldn't get onto the ones you saw, but next time!

they've been getting them for a month now. First and last light hope you're using a sink tip
@RosinFlyFishing2 жыл бұрын
Haha I know I've seen it and heard it, been a great spring apparently. I haven't been in a few weeks since May. I was using sink tip but I need a longer section and T14 instead of T8. Thinking 12 feet would be about perfect and still roll castable

You think 7ft is long enough to get down? I find my floating line drags too much and I need a bit more depth!
@chrisburgess69642 жыл бұрын
@@RosinFlyFishing more than enough at least for the Vedder. 12 feet is okay to remember the floating part will sink. The speed I see the current 7 ft should be fine. When fishing like That cast straight across from you and at 40- 45 degrees strip like mad. If the current is faster they take on the swing
@chrisburgess69642 жыл бұрын
@@RosinFlyFishing if a pool is super deep like 20 ft then you used 12 ft. Roughly 60% of the depth should be sink tip

Hi there, awesome video! I see this fishing spot a lot on other people fishing videos. Looks like you are fairly high up above the surface of the water? Was wondering is it steep? I’ve never fished Capilano before, only the Vedder. So I always hear that the terrain in the Cap is much dangerous. I’m thinking this spot you are at is similar to dog park/cliff face in Chilliwack. Thanks, tight lines.
@RosinFlyFishing2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, thanks AJM! Yes it is common spot, but it's actually quite challenging and dangerous to fish. Climbing down the rocks are slippery and if you fell on sharp rocks or in fast water you could be injured or die, so I'm being a bit dramatic just to warn you!! There is some safer spots called Dog Leg (google capilano river map, there is a map showing many spots including Dog Leg), and also down river by the time and canada highway with parking at Klee Wyck park. I haven't fished the Vedder/Chilliwack but I want to in the future! Good luck out there :)

Can you make a video where you show how to get to some of these spots, ive been searching but cannot find anyone who shows the way to these spots
@RosinFlyFishing2 жыл бұрын
On one hand I wish I could to help people out and do it more safely, but I would get a lot of internet hate for doing that. Most people don't want other folks on the river so keeping the information secret is important to them. I don't have the same feelings though, so if you want to message me on Instagram I can help you out a bit :)

Where is the spot on the Capilano
@RosinFlyFishing Жыл бұрын
a common, but very popular and hard to fish/dangerous to fish area and various spots are up by the hatchery. please do some research before going, you can literally die very easily fishing this river, especially in fall time or during any dam release or heavy rain. please make smart decisions!! :)

You went the awful trail down. I went up that one time and deeply regretted it, can't imagine how sketchy it is walking down. Laughed a bit when the entire family pointed at the trail going up. The stonefly nymphs are still kicking around, going to need to pickup some and learn to tie them for next year.

Haha I loved it too that's why I did the edit that way 😂. Live and learn eh! Yeah I wonder if a good stonefly presented to the right fish would result in a good time!

One you get into fishing, you will learn that the best spots are always crowded, posting you tube videos aint gonna help that. Check your ego, sysop posting
@RosinFlyFishing2 жыл бұрын
Only a few secrets on the Cap and I'm not naming any new locations. The ones I've talked thus far are always full and well known before I started posting videos. Also tons of other videos out there before me on these spots. If you want to make judgements about me or others based on an internet video and think this is all an ego thing I'm likely not going to be able to do anything to change your mind. I love fishing and I love helping others get on the river in already well known spots and lately for smaller systems I've totally stopped naming the waters. That's my balance. I want more people on the water fishing and enjoying the outdoors. Sorry if that is not what others want. Good luck fishing out there :)
