Home has never been more of a refuge than it is these days. It’s more important than ever, to turn it into everything that makes you feel comfortable, safe, happy, and proud of. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just peaceful, and grateful when you look around. ❤ Ty for all your content. You’ve taught me one thing on your channel. To have patience and wait, and be content as you go along. God will bring everything together in time. The right time.

Quiet, still and peaceful it is a delight to hear you and your husband speak. I do live in the country about a acre land. We sold our first about three years ago. Then lived in military housing very nosy and not our place for longevity, we have now been our country home about a year and a few months. And enjoying the peacefulness. Thank you for reminding me about beauty of a home, that is a home.

Lovely video. I think what i appreciate most about your channel is that you love and enjoy what you have. You are not showcasing all the new items and buying all new decor every season. It is just not real life for most people. Finding contentment in what we have has almost become a lost art in the consumer culture. It is fun to buy something new, but that shouldn't define our happiness and worth. Rearranging a room or cleaning out a closet can make a space feel new at no cost. Looking forward to the room you are working on!

Good Evening 'America's Sweetheart', Rachel. I love the videos in homemaking, and this one tops the cake! Isn't it great to use what you have in the re-create process? I love what you have done with the books, and shelves. I have learned so much from you over the past couple of years, and the best part is, I am so much like you. Home is where rest, pray, nourish, and become whole again. Not necessarily in this order, but it is HOME. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us. (Now I want to make a Quiche)...😃🥰

A well functioning home truly is a luxury. It is important to assess and reassess all the little spots in your home to create that luxury. I found a vintage pine washstand on FB marketplace this week. I've been looking for a very small dresser for my guest bedroom/office because the little table I had was not functioning well. This time, I did spend some money, but I also needed to have an open mind. This little washstand will function well as a place for guests to tuck away their clothes or other special belongings and holds my Peter Rabbit tea set so beautifully. It makes me smile so wide to see how perfect it is there. The luxury of sitting in my grandmother's rocking chair, reading, or working at my secretary style desk is a morning luxury I treasure so that I wake up early just to have those precious minutes there. Thank you for sharing your luxurious & well functioning home.

My kitchen was recently renovated, new lower cabinets and new doors on uppers. My style is vintage cottage. And it feels luxurious because it is the largest kitchen I’ve ever owned and the drawers and cupboard doors are all soft-close. I love that feature. I was watching this as I was exercising and I was thinking that I smelled bacon! I had just watched you frying bacon. The power of suggestion!😂

Rachel,I have just changed over from Farmhouse to English Cottage, asI have a lot of pretty things that speak English Cottage. My problem, is choosing a rug for dining room and LR.I am very fond of the reddish traditional oriental style rugs, but just not quite sure about this. I have a white slip covered sofa, colors are blue, rose and sage green. I have done a gallery wall with b/w Spode plates, a b/w ginger jar. Lamp, and a brass lamp. I sure wish you would do a video on what type rugs would go with my English cottage decor. Will be watching closely, and thanks, if you could.

Hello my beautiful friend 💚. I love the ideas you have shared! That added Bookcase that you added is the Perfect piece!! It definitely adds that Extra Cozy Feeling of a English Cottage Library!! ☺️. Just the other day, i had my 4 Grandkids over. My little Grandson who is 2, doesnt play with toys!! He LOVES coming to Grandma's house and playing with my Vacuum Cleaner, my Dishwasher and Grandma's Old Vintage Books 😂. Well he literally stacked all my Vintage Books like a Tower and shouted with Glee of his Creation 😂. For the life of me, i could not remember how i had it decorated prior to his Exploration 😂. So i had to Redo my Bookcases and you know what? I LOVE it even more!! 😊😁. I got some more Vintage Books from the Thrift Store and filled up some of the empty spaces and i feel like i now have a little Cozy Library!! Thanks to my Grandson 🤗!! I also found a New Decorating Book of "Decorating with Blue & White". I cant wait to dive in and be inspired! 😁😊☺️. I even went as far to Restyle my Barrister Bookcase to keep my Precious Breakables from those little fingers. It's been fun!! Ive also created a little Office Nook for Hubby in Our Cozy 400 sq ft Studio Apartment 💚💚💚💚. Im SO HAPPY how its turning out!! 😁🤗. Have a beautiful weekend my friend!!

Good evening, Miss Belinda! We are doing the same thing! I just cleared out one closet, did a quick purge on two others, and reorganized the linen cabinet... My plan is to switch out a chest of drawers with a dresser for more space. Anyway, yes, one space at a time is way more motivating! Thank you for sharing, this is encouraging. BTW, we've been out of town 2 weekends in a row, so your little package is still waiting on my island... I'm aiming for shipping on Monday! 😀

Mrs. B here, you have a great collection of decorating books! Especially the English Cottage which is my favorite style too. I still can't get over how amazing your kitchen remodel turned out! Great idea to put that bookcase in the corner. Did you also try sitting it at an angle to make it look like a corner cabinet? Might make an interesting look and still give room to use the desk???
@StoneCottageHome6 ай бұрын
Good morning, Mrs. B! Yes, I've relished those design books, and it's especially nice to have them at my fingertips. I have wondered how the bookcase would look at an angle, but am happy with where it is for now. Thank you for visiting!

I love seeing your home transform into a beautiful place you call home. It is always such a satisfying feeling when everything falls into place. The bookshelf you placed with your books looks perfect there in your living room. I had a heavy picture pull away a nail on one side. I heard the bang of the picture hit the corner wall. Couldn’t find was happened till the next morning. Definitely not a good feeling. I hope nothing got broken. Take care. ~ Janet 😘

Hi Miss Rachel 💐 I was watching the bird by the lake in your video thinking what a beautiful statue, then it took flight. What a magical moment captured on film! That universal khaki paint is a lovely changeable colour depending on the light. I'm so excited. I have just purchased a home further out in the country. It's in an alpine location so I need to improve the heating. It has a big garden and wonderful rolling hills right next door, with cows and sheep. Such a stressful anxious time packing up a lifetime of belongings. I can't wait to be settled in. This video is a welcome reprieve from packing. Thank you. Blessings 🇦🇺🙏

Great video Rachel! You have a great talent for making things work together without looking cluttered. Everything just flows well together. I do have a question though...were those your Koi fish? If any of them have gone missing, the culprit will most likely be a Crane. This happened to my cousin. She lost almost all of her Koi to a Crane. She ended up putting wire over her pond to protect the fish she had left. Crane's are great fishers, however, they will not turn away from a free lunch.

I was only able to catch a glimpse of the green footstool with the curved legs in your living room, but am sure it's exactly the same as one that belonged to my mom, which I now have. Can you tell me where you got it, where it came from, or who had it before you? Mom lived in Colorado and Idaho for most of her adult life, so hers was probably from one of those two places, most likely Idaho. Thank you! I enjoyed your video today!

I have a granny flat that is attached to our house which I want to incorporate into the house. I need more pantry space, so walk in pantry, another living room, which would be our third, but our teenagers can take their friends there. Two more closets for the bedrooms who have smaller closets and of course a store room. Our granny flat is at the moment our big store room. But my husband isnt convinced of my plans. Grrr. He wants to remodel the granny flat but putting a new kitchen and bathroom in is so expensive. The whole place needs re doing. My idea is cheaper and I want to use all of my home. The granny flat is a headache as it is at the moment. Although my daughters could move in there after they get married, but I have three, so as to set themselves up. This though is only temporary then I am left with a granny flat that we don’t want to rent out because it’s is attached to our home. Ugh!!
