3000 years of juggling with named tricks.......then comes Wes Peden to add another 400 new tricks the world has never seen. You surely have changed the way people can view juggling. Your skill is so incredibly intense and your artistic vision walks hand in hand with it.

@wespeden4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Merlin! Those 2 were both in the edit until the very end when I did the final tighten up. I think they are definitely both on the level of the tricks in the video but that last section was just a bit too long and these weren't quite different enough from the tricks around them. I was happy to know that I would make a bonus video so that people would see these at some point : )

Hi Wes! It always makes my day when you drop a new video, thank you for sharing your juggling with the world. I have a question about your creative process: How much of your process is "seeing a move in your head" and then working on that particular move vs.. "trying all the combinations" of a particular set of throws and catches and then after the fact going "oh wow, that was cool!". Example: the neat "flat drop chops" at 1:50 or vertical kick-drop balance half shower at 0:14. All of your moves are impressive but some of them (at least to my personal juggling aesthetic) seem so simple and look so elegant ("seem" is the key word!) that I wonder if you imagined them in your head first or if you "accidentally" discovered them after reviewing the video. Keep on being amazing, and safe travels wherever you happen to go next!
@wespeden4 жыл бұрын
Hi Joe, My processes is a combination of jamming with ideas in real life and then watching the videos and writing notes of things to try next time. It’s rare that a whole new trick pops into my mind out of nowhere. I tend to make 6 or 7 versions of a trick before I find the one I’m happy with. There are definitely accidents or times when I realize what I thought looked good about a trick looks lame and a part that I thought looked lame looks great! The 2 tricks you talked about were made by starting from an exact trick like the “vertical club foot pop“ and making a pattern from it or having a concept like “clubs going around other clubs in the air” and making tricks inspired from that idea. I definitely love the simple and elegant tricks the most! It’s much harder to find those ones but I’m so happy when I do!
