So everyone is having this big problem where they can't move the sprites like in all the animations seen in one of the FLAs. It's actually quite simple. First, get a sprite sheet. (I highly recommend making a smaller sprite sheet by taking one of the sprites and cropping the image to it.) Next, convert it into a bitmap (Modify -> Bitmap -> Convert Bitmap, then set the settings to what is shown in 2:56.) and then convert it to symbol. (Modify -> Convert to Symbol...) and set it to graphic. Double click while the symbol is selected. Now you are in the editor for it. Move each sprite into the middle by moving the entire thing in each keyframe you make. After you're done, remove all the sprites around each keyframe (use first sprite for reference on where the middle is by seeing the sprite at the end). Then, double click to exit. Now, here's this: The longer the keyframe, the more sprites you see. Alright, that's my tutorial out of text. If you want a more visual example, just go to LucasRPDJ's sprite animation tutorial. Why didn’t you show how to actually animate the sprite. You showed everything perfectly then just said “here’s this spirit set that I already got to be animated now see as it moves and I move it around.” While I’m still sitting here with idle sonic sliding across the ground

Really good but when you are making a tutorial for complete beginners you have to explain things that you wouls assume to be logical. Like what to do if we want to drag sonic across the canvas (4:25) i had to play it in .25 speed to figure out what you did!

Watch Doujin Pixations videos , they are more precise about sprites. But for the jump animation , look at his video. Hope it helps.

@@M_ZS19 No , it's on an old software , but it's almost the same process. You can trust me , I used to make an animation on Adobe Animate 2020 using Doujin Pixation videos technique. If sometimes things doesen't work , make sure you did just like the youtuber. Hope it helped. But like I said , for tutorials like jumping and sonic going in a cave so we can see it behind the cave for example , it's better to use james video.

right click the layer that you put the sprites in and then click convert layer to symbol. and then save as asset boom a animation that you can use later.

When you go on spriters resource click on a sprite sheet make sure you click twice so u go full screen then get out the snipping tool carve the sprite then go in AN then right clcik paste to center blah blah ok when you do all of that go to Modify hover over bitmap, then it should say trace bitmap have your settings just like james

Adobe Animate is a paid program. I believe there are free trials, but after that it's a monthly or yearly subscription. There ARE freeware alternatives, but they might not have some features that Animate has.

@@M_ZS19 Pencil2D is a good one, however it is very limited and basic, and doesn't support tweening. If you want a freeware alternative to Adobe Animate, I highly suggest Krita. Krita is basically Adobe Animate but free, and even supports tweening!
