I must say, this tank is really nifty. It reminds me a lot of pre-dreadnoughts with their very circular turrets. It even has the superstructure wrapping around the turret in a similar way the ships tended to do. On the topic of turrets with limited angles of fire: how difficult would it to be to make a tank with sponson turrets? I think that could be an interesting design. Great work as always!

If you manually type in the armor value it can go higher than the normal era-based limit. Up to 500mm, in fact.

I actually moved on from sprocket after a couple weeks because the building limitations felt a bit repetitive, looks like there's been changes tho so I'll be returning to the game again :)

I made a simmilar design. For me It worked better than most turretless tank destroyers. I also used a simmilar technique to build something that resembles a MK IV and an M3 Lee look alike.

To combat the poor turret angling, you could use a bunch more of the add-on armor plates or make the tank turret a dome shape similar to the T-90 or something.

this tank would actually be very useful in a ww2 like conflict. on offense, working with high speed light tanks moving behind them as flank coverage, the mobile heavily armored limited traverse tanks could dash forward like assault guns, and take out fortified positions and enemy armor, break through the front lines and help cover mechanized infantry while they deploy. on defense its long rang fire power would give it indirect artillery support capabilities, its armor would allow it to act as an heavy emplacement and its speed could allow for dangerous flanks and counter attacks. with support from fully turreted light or medium tanks moving in with it on offense it could pose a massive threat, and acting like a sniper on defense, it would be unstoppable.

little tip when fighting an Allen. the armor on the side and back of the turret is abysmal but the hull armor is stupid thick. I once took out an Allen with a default cannon and a single AP round by shooting it in the side of the turret. I was basically dragging and dropping pieces without altering them at all.

This reminds me of the Italian SMV type tank destroyers that also have limited turret turning capabilities due to a lump in the back of the tank. But yet I think this one is now my favorite :)

Yeah, I think it's on the roadmap still, but as it's a one man development team, the roadmap can be a bit off. I do hope we get it in the next year though, however I tend to keep my expectations metered for a small dev team.

Really cool design here, maybe you could make something where there are 2 turrets, one on the back and one on the front with this same idea so having tanks flank behind is less of an issue. Don't know how realistic that is or if you could do that in this game

I really like your tank designs. All I can do is a cartoonish box tank that dies by its own weight or lightly hit small hills. I can't seem to make the tracks shaped as I designed initially. It went from V shaped to straight line after I start the game.. probably the weight after all..

A tapered turret and less ammo in said turret would make it much more survivable. Wouldn't look as good though. It's Cool tank idea.

Have build 2 half-traverse SPGs, one fictional and one from a British prototype (FV 3805 and probably the only one build in sprocket, it's pretty rare) even with some interior design. Very fun.

I really like this idea, not sure it would work, but it keeps the tank low, and gives much more range than having no turret. Like Hetzer. You could slope and round off the turret too. I'd bet for most of the time it doesn't really help to have full 360, just helps to have enough.

In real life the only reason to do this is if you have a light tank that can't handle a full turret But you don't want to deal with all the problems with a simple casemate of a light TD They're cool concept wise But I prefer them on light things personally

26:44 the KT's gun has a ton of mass and is unbalanced as all hell. if you dredge through the files to find the AI tanks and copy it to your blueprints you can see it. so it couldnt raise its gun because it hasnt been updated for a bit.

I don't understand why you didn't change the shape of the turret area that will always more or less face the front since the turret itself doesn't rotate 360°. That would have made it look much more interesting. You could have even given it multiple guns to create a complete freak since it already has such an humongous turret and engine deck.
