I agree with Hannah! Dot markers work great too. The super dark, inky ones do shadow a little bit but don't bleed through at all. I do a pen & dot marker test at the end of my 2025 daily and weekly videos, if you want to see it in action.

Pity the monthlies aren’t Monday start like the rest of it. It makes it very confusing to use.

@@TheTeddytumtum I totally get that. I think most American based planners do it this way - erincondren, MakseLife, plum paper, etc. I don’t really know why, but I am used to it. I have been loving a Monday start monthly this year, though! It does make more sense to me!

@TheTeddytumtum (first off, great handle name). This is such a weird phenomenon. When I first started designing the planners, I remember being so conflicted on how to go about the monthly calendar, and just concluded that the vast majority of monthly layouts are like this (outside of the planner community too - like wall calendars, etc.). Yet, I'd HATE to have my planner have a Sunday start (zero offense to those that love that, though). Thanks for getting me thinking again!

@@HanCanPlan without my researching it fully, there is a traditional Biblical belief that Sunday is the first day of the week but I think (like many traditions) it goes back farther to ancient Egyptians who passed it on to the Romans. It seems to have “stuck” in the US. I’m used to it so Monday start monthly is confusing to me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@sproutedplanner UK planners are Monday starts. The odd bit was that the monthlies started on a Sunday, whereas all the others were a Monday start - so it wasn't very logical.
