Fun fact about this game: it was developed all by a 15 year old and is based off of this like beat boxing game of the same consept. HOWEVER!! everyone was so upset over it being "brain rot slop" that they DOXED and THREATENED this 15 Yr old creator with literal death threats until the game was confirmed to never have a new update ever, but it wasn't enough and they basically threatened the 15yr old creator off the Internet. A little bit of info: Sprunki is a mod to a popular game Incredibox, and recently has garnered so much attention content farms have taken the game and given it the ol’ elsagate brainrot treatment. This has gotten so bad that the creator has been bullied and harassed into never touching the game again and basically hating it because of what the internet did to it. The creator is a minor, and has been hacked and doxxed because of this game. From what it seems like, they’ve moved on and have gone to make more incredibox mods that are pretty good imo Also the game on itch isn’t the actual game, the real game is on a site dedicated to incredibox mods and has the updated version of Sprunki.

Their issue with big youtubers covering it is, they'd much rather Incredibox (the game this is based off of) get the attention Sprunki is getting, because it's an incredible game as well! On the bright side though, there are hundreds of people in every message they make supporting them: Something a particular comment mentioned is that Markiplier is likely to make a video on Incredibox after reading these comments! It would probably make Sprunki's creator feel a bit better if that theoretical video got a lot of views. (Wink wink nudge nudge)

Alright, clearly this needs to be said because some people are confused on how the original creator feels about this. Yes, the creator originally said they didn't feel too great about it because Sprunki getting popular was how the whole scandal started. That was later edited because the creator said "I kinda enjoy it" that Mark made a video on this (source: NyankoBFLol's community page, 2 days ago today). I say this because I don't want Mark to feel bad about making videos on this in the future, especially because I would love a video on Sprunked, Abgerny, and who knows, maybe even Orin Ayo.

Great comment that I completely agree with. Communities are half the time not what an actual community is about, it's a fandom/fanbase and more often than not they are toxic trash that, if you do not agree with the mainstream ideas within the crowd, you'll get bullied, harrassed and so much more. Hey, thanks for playing this! I had to check it out myself and I'm absolutely obsessed now with playing around on both settings. I think I prefer the dark mode a little more. The sun is pretty cool, too bad it quickly overpowers others. While the creepy Giraffe is also epic but quickly overpowered by the others. Reading the story about the kid doing this game is absolutely heartbreaking though. I hope he sees how much people love it. Nothing but love and support from me! Oh yeah, the mod was planned to get updated, but the original creator, NyankoBFLol, was doxed and harassed online by a hacker and some people who hated Sprunki (because of the content farms). His account also got hacked. The hacker said nasty things using Nyanko's account, then deleted his discord server, and deleted all of Nyanko's work on Scratch, where I'm pretty sure where Sprunki came from.

CONTEXT!! (surely Mark will never see this but still) Sprunki is a mod for the game Incredibox, a game where you have a list of characters (5 beats, 5 effects, 5 melodies and 5 voices, from top left to bottom right respectively) and usually 7 polos (the guys where you place the characters). This last year a new genre was created in this game's community, horror games, these were simple, just scary guys with scary sounds, but recently a lot of new mods appeared with some interesting mechanics, from a horror mode after a after a specific character (like Sprunki), give you a book with lore that explains something about every character (usualy how they died or something about they like their relationships with other characters), some sort of boss battle (there's a mod where you can't do too much noise because that will wake a creature in the background), and a LARGE etc. There are a LOT of horror mods. The one that started everything was Orin Ayo, a mod made in the coding plataform Scratch, the story was simple, some sort of limbo with a lot of people that died in terrible ways. I can't talk too much because even if I like watching people playing these mods, I'm into this community too much. Hope the context helped, if someone needs to know about something else I can try to remember lol

Lots of people are talking about the doxing, but the more relevant issue seems to be that the version mark acquired is stolen and makes no mention that it's built on incredibox. I don't blame Mark for this at all, but it would be nice if it could be brought to his attention. Nyankobf, the creator of Sprunki, is super passionate about incredibox and it would be nice if Mark could add a pinned comment shouting-out incredibox and the original mod.

Since there's been some comments on what happened to the creator, here's a detailed breakdown on what went on: NyankoBfLol's discord account was hacked and his own server got deleted. When the hacker got into his account, he posted racial slurs and sent very unusual messages to his friends. Then the hacker leaked Nyanko's face, name, and family pictures online. He also hacked a second account of Nyanko's which had a lot of his work and games on it. They've all been deleted. Apparently this was caused by the fact that the Sprunki mod got so popular, it completely overshadowed the game it was modded on. Incredibox became known for Sprunki and someone took issue with that. It's why the creator isn't pleased to have Mark making a video about it, Sprunki getting more popular than Incredibox was what started this situation, and now it may get even more popular thanks to Mark. Edit: This isn’t a criticism of Mark, nobody can expect him to be aware of any drama happening with every game he checks out. Edit 2: Also important to note that Mark (accidentally) played the wrong version. This version of the game on Itchio is stolen, which is probably why there was no description. The website Mark went to later on was fake. Sources: Most recent community post from Nyanko, the description of the most recent video from him, and 2 Reddit threads in the Sprunki subreddit. There may be something else I'm missing too, something about "brainrot channels", somebody else can probably clarify as I don't know what that is, heh. Really sucks this happened to him, I've never heard of Sprunki until this video, but I'm hopeful the potential increase of popularity in Sprunki leads to the hacker being caught for all he did.

I honestly love Sprunki... But people just suck... "It's mascot horror!!" No... It's fakeout horror... It's like saying creepy pasta games, are the same as silent hill games... The difference is that Mascot horror typically revolve around a character, example cases being: Five nights at Freddy's, Poppy playtime, Garten of ban ban. Fake out horror is: Doki Doki LC, Sprunki, and OMORI. Tl:dr: Fakeout horror is "Aw this is cute... Oh shit wait-", mascot horror is "These characters look like distorted children's mascots..."
