I can't really say why, but I pretty much always aim for a recharge delay of three and a half or less in the second game. For the longest time, I would swear that they're all a lot longer in the third game, but there are legitimately some really fast shields. I've kept a lot of really bad ones for a really long time to avoid interacting with the system, and it turns out that it's not even all that complex.

Run idea: Can you beat B3 with the Highest Item Score? since item score usually means fuckall, and weapons a 100 points lower than another one could be miles better. Probably better as a TVHM playthrough.

There is a large part of me that wants to take on the full series via shields. The biggest hurdle for the remaining games is just how to go about getting the first nova shield in each.

"easy as pie" comes from how easy it is to eat a slice of pie, as you can very easily eat an entire slice (or just an entire pie if you're hungry enough) very quickly even without utensils.

Thank you, I'm glad to hear it! As a general rule though, I do try to avoid doing runs that have already been done, and I'm fairly sure Tediore reload runs have been done through at least most of the series. It is a really fun playstyle though.

The only other vault hunter i would think is a good choice for this run would be Fl4k for giving their pet a copy of their shield but the only downside is you cant control the pet for damage

Only thing I wanna point out about reflect shields being bad is..... Beskar + Reflect Shield. You go down once, and even *in* Fight for Life state, the 30 or whatever % to reflect magically becomes 100% and will *only* reflect. (and iirc if you kill something with the reflected bullets it does count as killing for FFYL) I had a super broken one on my moze that for some reason didnt even require me to get downed to permanently 100% reflect at all times - even after reloading, un- and requipping the shield, closing and restarting the game.... So yeah.... Idk how or why it broke the way it did but it did. great fun game I agree. Was my entry into the BL franchise. Glad to over time trickle the knowledge via videos that not all of the games are like this one..... where every lootable object has to be a shit stuffed toilet that farts and vomits excrement your way BECAUSE ITS FUNNY AND YOU SHOULD LAUGH .... Only ever one joke landed for me. And iirc it was in a DLC. And I merely scoffed. It's fun. If you turn down the Voice volume all the way and play the game to play it and not to experience it.

I was expecting more use of legendaries. How different would this run be if you could only use legendary shields? You start with one in your mail and there's a couple that even give you a damage aura.

I cant remember if generic Hyperion guns could spawn with the reflect part, but you shouldve allowed yourself to use the Hyperion barriers defensively even if not offensively speaking of BL3 Hyperion, why, why isnt it just Pangolin, it wouldve made so much more sense especially since BL3 didnt even explain that Athena is the new Hyperion leader

Sorry, I'm to blame, me and my sis started playing this game on Co-op PS4 a month or two back, which meant something had to go wrong, so the game crashes quite often, along with low framerates. Dunno how me playing it on PS4 translates to the PC version also crashing but it does.

I always have very mixed feelings going into Eden-6. I stand by my assertion that the story is at it's best at Eden-6, mostly because we're actually dealing with likable characters that aren't being thrown into the blender of incompetent plot escalation that everyone else is experiencing, but the setting and pacing are just such a slog. Bluntly... it's too long. As complete thematic nonsense as the visit to Athenas was in the previous section, it was a really good choice from a gameplay perspective because it actually gives the game the feeling of that 'thousands of worlds!' they boasted about so much. You're actually changing scenery meaningfully, even the way you move through the level feels slightly different. Eden-6 desperately needed one or two interludes like that, instead of just same egg, profile view. It's not a very interesting setting, either. I'll be honest, I've almost never seen a game that did a swamp section in an interesting, engaging way. It's just not a likeable sort of setting. I am glad that this game has a lot going for it other than the story; I still occasionally pick it up and replay it with a friend, and I'm always finding some new interesting niche item to play around with, or some minor build detail that I hadn't noticed before. They got the gameplay and gunplay so much better than previous installments that even despite how terrible the writing was I would still consider BL3 a fun game.

At some point, I still think I'd like to figure out a good way to take a crack at it. It raises the question though surrounding the end game of three. In theory, I'd want to try it at Mayhem eleven rather than starting a normal mode run, but my personal experience with the Mayhem levels has been... ineffectual. I'm not yet sure if it's my build philosophy or something else, but it's something I'll need to figure out before trying to get too deep into any unique item based runs for the third game.

So just to clarify, you're saying that being actively glitched into architecture is an intentional choice because the game features guns? Because it also features melee builds, which are disproportionately affected by things like invisible/misaligned objects within the environment. And regardless, things like directional inputs not working is still a pretty fundamental problem that exists agnostic of how I choose to play. As an aside, are you feeling alright? Because that's a really strange hill to choose to be so aggressive toward a stranger on.
