worth pointing out the Spulen one shown is for the later model bushings. the competition one is for earlier model, hence the different shape. Though regardless of that the black one shown is ridiculously flimsy. that also will be why people below have said it doesn't fit. Check your part number and the void shape on the mount, prior to purchase. then find the right shape for your car. I'm not sure if Spulen makes early shape ones (they must by now), but if you cant find one SuperPro make some for both part types. Earlier models will not have the 'crossbar' between the two bottom stalks, whereas the newers will (black and spulen, respectively). this is also why the black one would "leave voids" as the top is also a different shape, but still allows fitment.

It's worth highlighting that the 21mm bolt needs to remain in by a few threads as the OEM bush is actually two part. If you remove the bolt completely, the force of sliding in the new bush will cause the upper portion of the OEM bush to move out of alignment making the new bush impossible to seat completely home and the bolt impossible to reinsert. I've had a few folk ask my what they were doing wrong and they didn't realise removing the bolt completely was the issue.

Jonah Cantore How did you fix the problem? I want to install one of these on my engine tomorrow. I guess I will loosen the bolt a little bit, push in the mount and then unscrew the bolt completely to put the washers on.

@@thyraelis do it just like that, use all of the lube to make sure you dont pinch the bushing

Yes, this! I spent an hour struggling with itm once it occured to me why the bolt was no longer aligned, i figured it out. 3 minute job spent that i an hour on 🙄

Nice video, you have a new subscriber :) one question though, will the mk7 item fit the mk7.5? and do you remove anything before you loosen the factory bolt? i.e. a factory mount or is this an addition to the mount that slips in to the factory mount? Cheers :)

Is there a reason you left the original bolt in place while installing the insert? Wouldnt it be easier to remove that bolt from the beginning?

This whole mount is complete bs, they make it look so easy when in reality the mount literally does not go in and it's impossible to make it work

Actually they didn't, really. They showed getting it started and then cut to when it was mostly installed, and then cut again to where it was flush.
