Steve Kerr lead the Spurs come from behind victory in game 6 of the 2003 Western Conference Finals. The win sent the Spurs to the Finals.
The Spurs outscored the Mavericks 42-15 once Kerr entered the game. San Antonio outscored Dallas 34-9 in the 4th quarter and had an amazing 23-0 run in the 4th to turn a 13 point deficit into a 10 point lead. Steve Kerr was 4-4 from 3 point range and was vital in pumping life back into the Spurs offense.

Lol that's fucked up when you put it like that but that's so very true. My only advice to Steve Nash is, ever thought about wearing a Spurs Jersey? Lol😂 you know what they say if you can't beat then join them. 🏃🏀

Toph Beifong Yup =( Suns beat the spurs in 2010 though, finally he got some redemption. I still believe suns were cheated in 2007 with amare and diaw getting suspended and the officiating by Tim D so I believe it was also rigged with the terrible calls(videos are on YT). In 05 joe johnson was out for a few games and came back too early

Nash lost 7 out of 8 total playoff series 27 playoff game losses between 1998-2013 in 15 years to the spurs lol...of course he resents them but I feel Nash got his revenge in 2010 sweeping them in San Antonio ...only to never win another road playoff game ever again or series and spurs do win a title and many series to this day ...lol..and get swept in his finals playoff series by them at home...Nash lost 5 playoff series to the spurs between 2001-2008 in a 8 years span...with 2 teams and his playoff record in those series 7-20 lol....he lost to them twice in every round ..wow...1-7 in series

Nash also had To watch his old teamates Dirk and Marion win titles with the point guard j kidd that Nash got traded for once and peja who knocked him out the playoffs in 2002 and 2004 all together on his old team mavs with his owner 7 years prior Cuban and watched Dirk and Jason terry who beat him in 2006 western finals without amare win it all in 2011 to go with 5 spurs titles 10 western finals 6 western finals 3 different finals mvps 6 all stars ...wow...they all got rings but him...even diaw barbosa Eddie house James Jones and Antoine walker who Nash played with won titles in this era...Nash got screwed

It wasn't just that Steve Kerr made the four 3 pointers, it's that he made all the right plays. Look at :48, when Manu drives to the basket, Kerr is wide open on the left wing. He was in the right spot every time. He made the right passes, he got the assists and the hockey assists. This is the reason Kerr and Horry were so good at their roles and were part of so many championship teams, cause they knew what their roles were and made the correct play almost every time.

That is how Pop refers to Diaw. He says Diaw raises our IQ, he understands the game like time and clock and spatial relations and sees mismatches that other players don't see and can adjust on the fly.

Staying in your pocket is the best skill of all. Knowing how to defer, where to do it etc. Knowing that a mundane pass to a covered man is still the potential beginning of a big play, cutting right to keep spacing intact etc. Really goid role players win rings.

I didn't go to school after this, it was so emotionally deflating what happened. The Mavericks without Dirk Nowitzki had been on a miracle run and were playing great basketball over the last 7 quarters and then all of the sudden....the air just deflated out of the arena. The screams from the crowd were some of the most piercing I've ever seen in an NBA game. The Mavericks simply stopped playing once Steve Kerr entered. It was an amazing thing to see. The Mavericks could have had an NBA championship that year, it was the best team they ever had, and it just fell apart in a matter of minutes before everyones eyes. And Duncan and Robinson had no involvement in it. It was really bad, especially after how their Game 5 victory went where Michael Finley, Nick Van Exel, Walt Williams and Steve Nash played incredible basketball. Even though the Mavericks eventually got a title years and years later, this was really the team it should have happened for. It was never the same after that....
@TRJ2241987

What this video doesn't show is the shots after shots after shots from Steve Nash, Nick Van Exel, etc that somehow do not go down time after time after time. So many shots in and out. Shots they were making all year. They just could not quite hang on, but that team made it very far for having the injuries that they did. I think they only had 7 or 8 active players at this point due to the old NBA rules of not allowing injured players to be replaced.

Tim Duncan had everything to do with that run. All the focus was on him which allowed open space for his shooters. And the reason the Mavs were missing their shots was because they were gassed, and were simply just not built for that level. That’s what usually happens with high octane offensive teams with poor defense.
@TRJ2241987
@TRJ2241987 4 жыл бұрын
The Mavericks were extremely gassed because they literally only had 7 active players at this point. Back in 2003, if a player got injured in the Playoffs, the team wasn't allowed to replace him with another inactive player. Your 12 man roster was set going into the Playoffs. The Mavs lost Dirk Nowitzki and Shawn Bradley permanently in the SAME GAME. The credit for the Spurs run agains the Mavericks in Game 6 completely belongs to Stephen Jackson, Manu Ginobili, and Steve Kerr, along with horrid defense by Steve Nash.

As a Mavs fan living in San Antonio, this is still a bit tough to watch. This absolutely crushed me...All the emotions come back watching this too lol I was like 13/14 years old, and I remember not going to school the following day, nor the half the next week. This was Thursday night and I just needed time so I didn't go to school until I was ready to face my peers. Needless to say, they let me hear it when I got back haha. I hated Kerr for a good bit after this series. This Mavs team was great and had a legitimate shot at the title if Dirk didn't go down earlier in the series.

When the Spurs beat LA at their home floor that was it, it was a wrap the title was the Spurs and they were not losing to anyone that year. LOL at their fans talking about Dirk getting hurt too, the Spurs already ahd won game 3 when he went down! They were up 2-1, they were not losing this series here.

Webber was a great player period. Dallas was a better team that year so they won. The mavs were a different team in 2004, had different players, and didn't play defense and most of those games were decided by 2 and 1 pionts. In 2003 we won most of those games by blowout margins. It's not our fault that webber was injury prone later in his career. Kings/Mavs 2003 was a great series. No offense, but the Kings never won a championship. It's pathedic 11 years have passed and you still cry about 2002

These early 00s Mavericks were a joke. I used to love watching them play because they were so explosive offensively, but defensively they were awful. Finley, Nowitzki, and Nash would shoot the lights out, but couldn't defend worth a damn. Obviously, Nowitzki and Nash would turn into much better players under better coaches than Don Nelson, and Finley won a ring with the Spurs in 07.
