Welcome back Sean. I appreciate the whole panel’s views but especially your balanced comments re. context for stats and pointing out the positive aspect of the discussion topics. It might be my background in finance and stats but it does my head in when ppl spit out stats without understanding the full picture. The key for me at the moment is the fact that Spurs are creating chances and dominating everywhere except the scoreboard. That and the great squad vibe are key when assessing Ange’s progress. Individual conversion of those chances or mistakes defensively are just that, individual errors that can change at the flick of a switch. Far more positives than negatives for me.

Welcome back Seanie, your intelligent, balanced commentary is valuable to Spurs community mate. I think a lot of the noise around Ange and how things are going is not wrong, but it is reactionary. The scale of the job is being underestimated by many. And the honeymoon start Ange had was what created this, as there were no expectations before he arrived for the next season, even for a couple of seasons. He progressed too fast for his own good at the start. He's changed EVERYTHING at this club, the best striker we've possibly ever had left. It's an almost completely new team, squad, way of training, system, approach and philosophy. It's in no way going to be smooth sailing to get back to challenging for the biggest honours anyway, not to mind when a whole new squad and way of doing things had to be brought in. There will be amateur hour at times and it just has to be accepted because there's been so much change. It takes time. It even took Pep 12 months and that was with all the things in his favour, like a team that already had premier league winners. It took Klopp 3 years to get Liverpool challenging. And they had amateur hour for 2 years in their defending in all regards. I have actually seen improvements already this season on matters that need to improve. It's not A1 obviously but it shows me there is a process on the specific matters as well. What Ange is doing is aiming to build a super team. In my view at some point it will all click, when I don't know, but I'm way off the point of judging him. The job has only started from phase 1. The scale of the job is so big, that we have to zoom out and see the forest from the trees. I believe we will get there with Ange, if we give him the time and patience to do it.

OK, only 4 points from 9...but we've been by far the better side in all 3 games. We've just not been anywhere near clinical enough in front of goal, and that has to change. I'm certainly not going to start waving white hankies around after only 3 games.

Exactly. Players need to convert chances. Ange can’t put the ball in the net for them but everything other than the recent scorelines is hugely positive. Some massive overreactions at the moment are only outing certain people as being one of overly-negative, inexperienced in football terms or simply impatient.

Saying that Spurs has one way of playing is a complete lie. In the first 3 games we have literally scored every type of goal there is. We've scored through the middle, we've scored from distance, we've scored from a set-piece. In fact the only goal we haven't scored is from going wide and cutting it back. Personally I loved the Ozzie ethos where if we scored more than the other team and won 4-3 what did it matter - loved that time and not that different to what Ange is trying to do. Exciting times - why I am loving Spurs again - if we can fix the defence against the counter and set pieces I would be waaay happier but then if it was that easy - I wouldn’t feel happy being a Spurs fan and all the trauma 😂 Sean so good you back mate - really missed you and hope you getting all the things that happened to you sorted mate.
