I'm not great at music theory or terms, but your additions to the song add another layer of goodness that I can't quite describe. It makes me want to dance!

hi there, you probably don't remember me. It has been 8 years when I wrote a comment to you under your Theme to Shindou from Imazuma Eleven Go. I used rather broken english back then. My abilities with the piano did only improve by a small margine and I am still unable to read the sheets. But I learned to differentiate notes by sound easily and when I play I play by ear... its just that my fingers never are able to keep up with what I want them to do. Anyway, I honestly thought that your channel went under, cause I NEVER got even a single notification from youtube, despite being subbed for all those years. It was a mere fluke that "Shindous Theme" popped up in my recommendations and I instantly remembered. Hope you are doing well for your self. :-) Kinda sad that you have only 20.000 subs, I would have thought that you would have at least 100k or something like that by now, considering how talented you are. But I'd assume that the broken KZbin Algorithm is to blame there...

Hello, thank you very much for taking the time to write after all these years! I'm doing fine, thank you. I have been more busy than before though, hence the lack of uploading. That is probably why the channel isn't really growing at a consistent pace. Despite that, I still find pleasure in covering new songs. Especially since I started integrating the piano and bass more. But because of that, I tend to be rather picky on the songs I want to play now so that I can make sure to bring out the fullness of all the instruments. Being able to read sheets is a nice skill to have. I think it does help your understanding of music in a more visual way. But playing by ear is a more immersive way to understanding music since you focus on getting the notes without relying on sheets. At least that's how I see it. At the end of the day, it depends on your needs. While I'm able to read sheets, I play by ear because there are just no sheets for the songs I play. And even if there were, I've grown accustomed to relying on my own ears, haha. It's already impressive that you're eager to play by ear. If you find troubles with keeping up with your fingers, I suggest just taking it really slow and build up the pace once you're sure you're able to play it slowly without mistakes. It might sound cliche, but it really all comes down to practice, patience and determination.
