That scraper is absolutely amazing. It makes me wonder if one of my ancestors made that tool. My lineage has been in America since the 16-teens....from England.....but from Normandy before that. I'd love to visit my ancestral land before I leave this life.

If it had full flat ground, g10 scales, frame lock and s30v steel endura would be a near perfect knife. Out of all spyderco knives the titanium spyderco military is my favorite, but everybody has it's preferences. I like almost all spyderco knives. They are build with great precision and they use materials of great quality. I wish spyderco would make a multi-tool and a pocket knife with many functions like the swiss army knife.

For survival situations saber ground is better for prying and stabbing and it's considered more durable. For slicing the FFG is as durable as other types of blade geometries. I like FFG better for a greater slicing capability and it pierces through clothes or armor easier. It's up to someones taste. If you feel more confident with a SG than that is what you should pick. I would pick an fixed SG knife for a survival situation. I have some SG knives but enjoy more in FFG knives in everyday life :)

I just dont see the advantage in FFG in this type of knife. Its already sharp enough for shaving or performing a heart transplant, why lose toughness and prying power with a FFG when you dont need to do so? Leave FFG for chef knives... ;-)

You actually wrong on the part when you saying flint cannot be ReSharpened is actually proven that it was sharpened using another stone actually

Fernando, the grip is nicer on the Cold Steel Spartan, but blade geometry not as useful for EDC.

got the zdp189 endura. should have went with vg10. my zdp189 delica top snaped off while tearing down a chicken! zdp189 owners be very carefull!!!!

delica zdp189 was a hollow ground with a thick tip and snapped real easy. so ffg owners... be carefull!!!!

I planned to buy this knife and I researched a bit about it, I found out that it had some issues. It folds under minor pressure. Type into youtube: "spyderco endura fail" I'm telling you this because I don't want that you get into a situation in which you must use this knife for self defense, it will fail you. This knife is excellent for some regular everyday tasks like opening letters, preparing food, carving wood etc.. It's a nightmare as a life depending self defense blade. Take care.
