This is my SpyderCo story.. In this episode we look at the Manbug and the Ladybug. Not much of a difference between these 2 knives but lets talk about them anyway..

How good is this bloody knife . I watched a doc on spyderco and the old man who invented the company and brand talked about how important ergonomics were with spyderco knives . You really do have to hold one to see what they’re all about . Love them ! Thank you for the support bud . Always appreciated! 🙏🏼

Although the manbugs' wider grip is more comfortable in hand, the added width in the pocket is not worth it for me

Whoaa those little buggers are tiny! I am getting flashbacks to playing with my micro machines as a kid, lol. I kind of want one now. I had a similar experience with Spyderco, I hated them because they are so distinctively ugly, lol, but then when I fell in love with my Honeybadger, it made me realize how much fun spidey flicking a knife was. I decided to go with a G10 Black on black G10 Para 3 as my first Spyderco. I thought it was the best combination of best looking Spyderco and most iconic. I almost had buyers remorse spending that much on it, but once I held it in my hand and opened it for the first time I was blown away! The action is so solid and so satisfying. It’s really nothing fancy, it’s just a solid tank of a knife. Ergonomically it feels amazing in the hand, it’s a pleasure to fidget with, but it also consistently gets down to business. It’s hard to pick a favorite knife, but my Para 3 might be my favorite knife of my collection. I have different favorites for occasions, but if I could only keep one, it would be my para 3. Since you don’t like heavy knives, I might recommend a lightweight para 3 if you don’t mind the plastic looking scales.

It’s crazy thou . Spyderco is that brand you don’t want until you hold it in your hand , then everything changes ! 😂 I’m really stuck on this carbon fibre dragonfly . I looked at the paramilitary 2 and the para 3 for ages but they’re just too big for me . I do love the look of them thou , it’s just not for me . I think I’m going to make a new rule . Anything over 50 grams , I’m gonna pass on . It really does have to be like I’m not carrying it otherwise I’m not down . Each to their own thou , we can’t all love the same stuff otherwise it’d be a boring world . These 2 really are special , I’m amazed I haven’t lost them yet ; most of the time I don’t even realise they’re in my pocket 😂

@@onemanhisdub1969 that’s not too bad . I was just speaking in general . It’s a rough guideline I like to use . I’m pretty sure the mini Griptilian is around that too but it’s the so perfect in every other way , I let it slide . I know I’m picky and a lot of people have pulled me up on it before, I just don’t like carrying too much crap in my pockets . It ads up quickly . Really been digging the ALPAKA zip pouch pro . Ok, I just checked out some of your vids. You have a new subscriber. You don't seem too interested in steels, but if you're curious, I would suggest getting something in k390. I think they make one of the bugs in k390. I'm leaning towards the Endela, but man is it ugly...They just had a sprint run of a 20CV Kapara (designed by an Aussie I believe) but they're spendy and I think whatever I get next is going to have to be in k390. I'm really trying not to be a knife collector, and I'm not rich, so I always take my time. To change the subject for a moment, looking over your videos I noticed you're in a very saturated genre. I'm not saying this to be negative. You do a good job and I'm sure you can grow your channel. It just it occurred to me that you might be missing something right in front of your nose. You live in a place a lot of people want to visit. I bet if you took your camera out and about and talked to people and showed your viewers around, you might really have a whole new avenue to explore. You're very personable and have a good sense of humor. Maybe people would like to have you virtually show them around your part of the continent. Anyway, just a thought. - Cheers m8

For the stuff I use , I’m not overly worried about steel . I have way too much stuff going on in my life to worry about that stuff . I know the steel on my Benchmade’s is great (s30v) my trapper has m390 . Feist s35vn. Etc . I run a hip hop podcast which had been getting crazy momentum lately, this KZbin channel , work full time , family etc . Sometimes you can pay attention to everything . I’m the same with knives . I buy quality over quantity . I don’t want drawers full of knives that I don’t like . If it doesn’t work , I move it on . I sold my micarta elementum last night and my orange mini bug to lighten the load , I really want to dial in my collection and if I don’t use it , it has to go . I’m not rich either mate , just blue collar hard work guy .

@@OGtalks You sound like a very busy dude. Congrats on the podcast. What's it called? I'll check it out. I'm an old head who got into hip hop in the early 80's, but honestly, once gangsta rap took over and all but killed conscious hip hop, I lost interest. (I know, big generalization, there's always exceptions and less mainstream stuff). I always appreciated music, style, and flow, but with a few exceptions, the culture passed me by - or I guess you could say I fell out of it. To be completely honest, I love music and still look for new music of all genres to get into, but while I appreciate the effort of a lot of musicians, I've heard so much that most things sound derivative or boring - or I just don't relate. I've noticed a lot of people listen to less music as they get older or stick with the same radio station - or even stop listening to music. It's such an emotional thing, I think it almost imprints you as you grow up and that becomes the most important music to you (I know, generalizing again). Anyway, I'm running my mouth again, so I'll wrap it up - Peace
@dylanemeraldgrey

@@OGtalks Oh yeah, the steel. No worries. Just thought I'd mention it. That' s just another aspect of the knife game as you know - but I'm no Pete either. ;) I use certain knives hard and certain super steels mean less sharpening. I want one good super steel knife and then I'm probably going to be out for the most part. I probably won't be able to go cold turkey though. ;) I like things that are useful that also incorporate design, style, and craft. I guess knives clicked for me because of that. And then there's the whole meditation of hand sharpening, and kitchen knives, which is a whole other thing...Yeah, I guess I'll never be able to totally give it up. ;)
