Nice little knife. I have slowly gotten to like smaller knives. I once refused to buy anything under 3 1/2 inches, but have really grown to appreciate smaller blades lately. Think I just might add this to my wishlist.

Great review. Big fan of smaller knives, compression locks and wire clips so this one ticks a lot of boxes for me. You make an excellent point about small knives: no less work goes into making them only less material. When you are talking the volume of material that Spyderco is using for their production knives that cost is nominal. This is a great option among many in the size category. I'd favor the FRN Chaparral just due to the thinner blade but if you want a little knife that is going to be reasonably tough the Lil Native's got you covered.

A Lil Native has become my favorite EDC knife (for now), because it fits well in my 5th pocket, it feels more comfortable in hand than most bigger knives, and it’s legal where I live-I can’t say that about the Shaman or Osborne or…

I've been into the traditional slip joint as a secondary carry lately. Looking at some GEC and Case to add to the collection.

This is where I'm at. The modern knife market has gotten so stagnant I moved into the much more interesting GEC & Northwoods market. I still use my moderns but I secondary carry a slipjoint daily, there is just something special about them.

Long time fan. Love the Spyderco reviews. Would the CruWear compression lock version be worth $126.00 today? My favs are the Persistance and Ambitious at the moment. Would smaller hands be better for the compression lock function on closing?

Just got one and really like it for 5th pocket. Still have a knife that doesn't feel wimpy but don't have to deal with the size/weight of going Rambo (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Ive just received my first compression lock, a para 3 and im now a big fan. Its my favourite lock id say. Looking for a small edc to complete my small medium large set . Its down to this or a mini bugout. The use will be light. The larger knives do the heavier stuff. Probably need to be an xmas gift , to myself lol. Anyone got both?

It’s 2023 and the lil native goes for $150.00 !!!! I bought mine for about $112.00 and I could probably sell it for as much. These knives are an investment if you care for them

I'm considering that knife.. I have real big hands (6ft5, 270 but old).. In the 80's and 90's I was heavy into body building and had to get clothes tailored..Most of my life stuff has been too small for me but I just deal with it.. I have a couple Spyderco DF2's that fit good enough..One in G10 and a ZDP189.. Those are way overpriced but I like them.. Somehow, I got unsubbed but I'm back with my babbling, obnoxious comments... You covered the knife well...

I think the obvious comparison is with the G10 Native 5. Now just imagine if they did a G10 Native 5 with a compression lock . . . Winner winner chicken dinner !

There’s a sprint run going on right now for the Lil’ Native with carbon fiber handle scales and a satin finish S90V blade. Just bought one for myself (my third Spyderco and first Lil’ Native). It’s a great EDC for work in a professional office environment (it’s classy looking haha).

Slicey Dicey excellent platform for a slip joint. Still not a fan of the way they executed the lock on this one though. Love the lock itself however.

Unfortunately for us wire clip fans both the back lock and slip joint versions come with 4-position hourglass clips: tinyurl.com/yabwtvku Great clip for a larger knife or if you need 4-positions but on a small knife like this I much prefer the wire clip.
