I read a few post on the Spyderco forums from 3-4 years ago , About how strong FRN and FRCP lightweight materials are! They may "feel" like cheap plastic, But they'll last a lifetime ! Thanks for watching Marek!

I love the Para 3, Even with XL-XXL sized hands. Spyderco is definitely a rabbit hole once discovered. Funny to me now, To think I disliked the way they looked when I first dove into this hobby. Now they make up 2/3 of my collection. Thank you for watching

@@knifevideochannel4657 Of course. I like your videos. I thought I would not revisit the Sypderco again since my Paramilitary 2 DLC sat in my safe and I never really used it. Now, due to this Maxamet and the deep carry Ti clips and my smaller hands I think I'm going to buy this Para 3 Maxamet and see how the edge holds up. I'm fascinated to see if the edge chips or holds on. I also want to get an optical USB microscope and sharpening stones and experiment with sharpening setups to see which I think is the best for sharpening knives and straight razors. I have a small collection of German straight razors and a beautiful leather strop which I've never used. I'm an engineer by education and love getting into the science of things like sharpening. What lynch clip is that on para 3? Is it sandwashed or stonewashed? Or do you think a satin clip would look nice on it?

Pretty sure it's the Stonewashed version, But I can't remember exactly. They look a lot alike, The sandwashed is more matte IMO. Both would look great. Thanks for watching

The scales on your paramilitaries are light in color. The new ones look darker. Is this true? I like the lighter grey of yours. MIne arrives on Tuesday and I really think they changed the scales to a darker grey and I don't think I'm going to like the darker scales.

I bought the two lightweights and the Para 3 , When Maxamet first came out, Before the production stop for warped blades. The Paramilitary 2 is very recent and from the newest batch that was made, So I'm pretty sure it's the same color G10. That being said, I'm color blind and probably wouldn't be able to tell. @@knifevideochannel4657 Oh, I appreciate that little tidbit of information. If your p2 is new then it's probably just the blooming bright light that is making it look light grey. The Para 3 Cruwear Sprint Grey G10 is very light , I think you'll like the color of Maxamet version.

Knife Video Channel I finally got my Para 3 Max from KnifeCenter. This blade is beautiful... I wiped the steel down with Boeshield oil and when I was wiping that off with a paper towel it went through the towel and my right index finger pad like a fucking laser cutter. Tons of blood and after a week finally able to remove the bandage and redress it. Wow, I love this knife steel! Beautiful! LOL

Thanks for the family overview. A very nice group, there! : - ) It's my understanding, when trying to remember back to the first Manix 2 LW being introduced. Is that they decided to go with FRCP for two reasons, mainly. It colors easier, or can be used with more color options, and it can be made translucent. Which they have done on what now, two model options? Both in blue I think, right? BD1 steel, and BD1N. The blue-ish S110V LW variation, is not translucent. Am I forgetting another one? We still need a Manix 2 with scales, in Maxamet. How about a gray Micarta? Now that would be sweet!

Thanks for the info on FRCP Steve! I Googled the differences between the two materials and found this post from Sal. " The CP is new, and offers more of what we want in a knife. It's tougher, stronger, has more color capability and is not significantly more expensive. In fact the strength was surprising when we broke the light weight Manix. I have a black one in my pocket right now. We'll use the same material for the light weight Native 5." I guess they have different melt temperatures also. I have the liners off the S110V Blurple G10 that I put the Lexon scales on. Hmm a Maxcarta Manix 2!!! Lol
