David Knight it is a great knife. I do wish I had one in the new cts xhp. Also wish it were a Sabre grind. But it's rock solid.

You should make a video about the hold out 3 vs delica 4.They both have 3'' blades about the same weight,above average steel and in the same ballpark when it comes to price.Also i think they both fit the same philosophy of use.

In my opinion,the Endura is the big brother to the Delica and i see the Manix2 lightweight as the big brother to the Native5.

Jack FarmBoy He gets some amazing stuff for great prices. I don't live in the States so I feel like I'm getting taunted lol. I'll have to send something in to be sharpened by him one day so I can get in on it.

Rodrigo Teresa Yeah, the good stuff goes really fast, so its hard to get in. I really like watching so that I can see a lot of diffrent things and learn a little bit. Its just nice sitting down and looking at knives every once in a while.

Rodrigo Teresa you definitely should. I was fortunate enough to get his old caly 3.5, and that mirror edge is no joke.

You do great reviews. However, the Manix in G10 with S30V would have been a much better comparison video. Both have G10, strong locks, forward choils, similiar blade length, similiar steels.. I think the G10 Manix is one of the best values. I know your a big fan of the Lawman and I agree. It's one of the few Cold Steel knives I like but done very, very well.. Thanks for the reviews.. I have all 3 knives. My hand is too big for the Native. I can't get a good 4 finger grip behind choil. My index finger feels a little cramped in choil. It's a good knife though.

I love my native 5 in s90v, the lawman for some reason I didn't really like the steel is awesome but the design I just cant. Plus the tip snapped. Dont know if that's due to a faulty heat treat or a weak point design.

Spyderco Native 5 and SC AK-47 Mini are much closer in terms of size and weight. Same materials. The Ak-47 mini is actually the lightest and toughest folder I've ever seen.

I would take any spyderco over any cold steel any day. I don't appreciate CS's business model, especially their san mai bs. I would choose the linered G10 models over the FRN versions for the Native 5 (I have both in the Manix 2 and prefer the liners), but the Manix 2 is my favorite Spydie. The ball bearing lock is just too much figity fun! And you get a bit more blade. I wish they had an S35VN Manix though.

Question - Did your Lawman come with the blade sharpened all the way back to the finger choil or did you grind down that ugly heel and sharpen it yourself ? All the ones I've bought or seen always have that big unsharpened heel before the finger choil, that really piss me off , and I end up just grinding the choil bigger .

should... while i like the sentiment wishful thinking does not replace reality. Of course being the outcast is always a choice, just i would advice to not be salty and indulge in name calling, doesn't strike me as a mature choice, actions have consequences that we should accept as the adults we are. But hey, hopefully one day people stop being scared about tools and we get to carry whatever we want, bad thing is the "fuck them all" attitude wont help anyone get there.
@Oozy9Millimeetah

Sir Galath i completely, get where you are coming from, alot of people say the same thing as you are saying, but if you dont exercise your rights you are going to lose them, im just speaking as someone who never had these rights. In Finland by law im not even allowed to carry swiss army knife, according to the law. All though the cops would most likely not fine me or arrest, but they could. Pleasing the sheeple and mindless masses will grant you nothing, you must educate them, not play into their fantasy phobias.
@SirGalath
@SirGalath 7 жыл бұрын
Oozy9Millimeetah i get your point but as much as i would like it to be another way thats not how education works. People are emotional creatures not rational ones, the outer presentation of things matters alot to get ideas across. ( www.westga.edu/~distance/ojdla/winter134/david_glore134.html ) For a right to continue having support in the long run you have to get new people behind it, and while the outcast attitude works for a few, for most it doesnt. To get people to support you is to make them empathize with your cause. Also, credibility and consistency are big factors, if we are going to carry big murdery cold steel knives just to open some boxes and cut some tape how much credibility do you think we will have? Proper tools for our needs and our environments, thats how you gain credibility, people can easily see the justification for your claims this way. While we as knife guys like our blades to be a bit on the excessive side just as any car guy likes their cars just a bit faster than average, we look as credible as that car guy saying we wont break the speed limit ever.

You really shouldn't use any coated knife to process food. I don't personally care. I'm not worried about eating some knife coating with my lunch. But I'd advise against it.

Everytime I see a spiderco knife I scratch my head. It looks so... cheap. Like every damn gas station knife, no I've seen $10 quick store knives that look better. I don't value looks over performance but when I'm spending that much money on a knife I want to be able to take some pride in my knife.

Still looks like that $5 knife I bought from walmart when I was in middle school. I'm just not into them I guess. I can't argue with their steel quality though. Its just not my type of knife and I'm not sure how they market them because of how they look.
@SirGalath
@SirGalath 7 жыл бұрын
Christian Williams I would advice you to go out of your own perspective to truly understand it. For example, i think they look great and not at all cheap. The cold steel on the other hand looks really generic, bland and trying too hard to be tacticool with the color scheme. To be fair i would not buy this particular native because i dont like the orange plastic but i own the "blurple" g10 one and would not describe it as cheap looking any day, any time. Different strokes for different folks i guess

Spyderco's generally emphasize function over form. They aren't always the best looking but most of them work well. That said, the Nilakka (once the brown scales are swapped) and the Nirvana are both great looking knives in my opinion.
