Spyro Soundtrack - Mt Spyro 2

"Mt Spyro 2" theme taken from the 2022 "Spyro" album release.
It's not known what this theme would have been used for - if it was intended to be used in-game at all - but some have speculated it to be a credits theme or a "main theme" for Spyro 2. This seems to be the first time the track has been heard by the public.

My theory is that this was supposed to play in the Main Title, (MT = Main Title) But for some reason they choosed to just reuse the Glimmer theme

Maybe a song for a demo video internally at Insomniac? They were working with Universal. I kinda get that vibe.

Probably not, the internal videos they did produce generally used entirely unrelated music (they seemed to like using tracks by Propellerheads for some reason) and I guess that would be a lot easier than having Stew compose something entirely new

Any clue on what "MT" what might stand for? Mountain? ... Main Theme? It's Main Theme isn't it?

No confirmation unfortunately, but interestingly the "t" wasn't capitalised, so it looks more like it means "Mount" to me (even though that doesn't really make much sense)

@@burgermike92 part of the reason I personally lean towards main theme being the case is because the way the song is composed is very reminiscent of the spyro 1 title theme, plus it borrows a bunch from a couple of different songs throughout spyro 2 so it really gives me the impression that it was meant to be on the title screen

@@MistyRockandRoll True this, it has exactly the same progression and is a medley of other themes with no conventional naming scheme for a level or type of food other than "Mt Spyro 2" which likely stands for main theme. I'm 99.99% sure this was the main theme for Spyro 2 but you'd have to ask stewie

It’s now been removed from all the streaming services it was available on due to a backlash surrounding the copyright claims it caused so it’s no longer publicly available. The content on the album was saved though and we’re watching the copyright situation closely to see what the best way to preserve it will be. For now at least I’m going to upload some of the tracks here - most of them are tracks already heard in-game in slightly higher quality, but the ones I’ve uploaded already are just notably unique ones.
