There's something so charming about the polignal designs of the original dragons that in my opinion was sadly lost in the remake.

​​@@sr.alligator7569 video was relatively long but there was a sorta review on this about how Spyro looks visibly bigger than he did in the original trilogy, in an attempt to make him "cuter" they made him chubbier, and there's legit mods in the Nexus for PC version that make him skinnier and give him more scales like in the original just remastered.

They made a lot of artistic liberties to make this slightly more appealing to the next generation. Suffice it to say after playing Reignited Trilogy with some of these "reimagined"/ "demake" into remake mods I don't really think it's the polygonal thing but rather some questionable remake choices by Toys for Bob.

Jeez, the game's plot is rather tongue-in-cheek, something I never expected to happen at the time - it all starts with dragons being interviewed about their thoughts on Gnasty Gnorc and their trash-talk towards him led to their imprisonment.

Ah, memories. ^_^ This was the first game I ever owned (as in, it wasn't my brother's and I just got to play it sometimes). It's kind of neat that the voice acting is actually pretty good for a game made in an era where voices were often extremely stilted. Though Spyro's voice was much better in the next two games, I will say. And I may be wrong, but the first ending is the only time I can recall seeing Spyro stand on two legs like most of the big dragons did.
