For those who struggle with gliding here’s some hot tips: Actually hold down jump for a second rather than tapping it, it makes a huge difference in the height you get. Try jumping while charging at the same time then glide at the top of your jump, you’ll get further range. Practice over and over again hitting glide at the very top of your jump. Do this on the ground rather than from a ledge where you’ll waste time and lives. Make sure both Spyro and the camera are facing the exact direction you want to go. Adjusting direction mid flight shortens your range. Hope this helps.

I haven’t played Spyro since it was on gameboy advance. The ledge in this game held me up for a long time. Later in the game, you find out how easy it is to jump and glide at the highest point. You’ll see

while doing his normal run from the back pillar to the front, push the jump button once the feet leave the pillar, then push the fly button while hes at the highest point of his jump. Use his forward action button the entire time !!

Self-proclaimed Spyro expert here. The ledge jump doesn't even need to be perfect. do as they instruct and take your second jump (to glide) at the very top of your jump. Don't skim the wall tooooo closely as it'll mess up your jump, but DO make it a very sharp turn hugging the wall on the right without touching it at all. The turn does need to be sharp, but you shouldn't be touching the wall on the turn. Also, only other hard part is the egg thief. Just flame him as he pauses and jumps to jump off the platform.

Just don't push forward and right on the left control stick, just go right to get to the ledge. It's what I did using my Switch Pro Controller on PC. You don't have to push forward to go forward when you're gliding or charging, just go left and right to steer.
