I've found that a lot of the time when playing as Medic you just have to take charge of most situations in terms of awareness. I'll always tell the guy im healing/picking up "Just cover the door/south/east/west/north" etc etc.

Exactly! Giving simple orders makes it easy for your teammates to follow them and it'll save both of you sometimes.

One important aspect i want to add is talking: talking to your teammates a lot makes them feel more comfortable with you being doc. For example, i always tell them what im doing while theyre downed, that way they know im not just messing around. Heres a scenario to illustrate what im trying to explain. Ive got one or especially multiple casualites. Ill be talking to them constantly like: "Alright guys, dont give up, medic's here. Ill revive the at first, because hes in a safe spot right now. Ill come to you next, Carl69, but youve been hit in a precarious spot, so im gonna revive the at first, then ill throw a smoke so i can get you up safely alright?" kinda like that, just to let them know what youre doing and youre definitely getting them up.

One thing I'd like to add which is medic related, is you can also drag _enemy_ bodies. You can pull them into compromising positions so that enemy medics can't get to them, or they are putting themselves in greater danger coming for them. Enemy medics in particular are good targets for this, an enemy medic dragged into your compound and behind your barbed wire is pretty much stuffed.

This is a really great guide... I love playing as medic and have done so a lot so i would like to mention the smoke grenades - they are a medics best friend in a tight spot. Of course they are not a magical wall to put up and must be deployed so they obscure the enemy insight NOT yours / your teammates ;-) but they are very usefull IMO Thank you for the fresh content and please keep up the good work Gorlami14
@Gorlami143 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yeah thought about that when I was finishing things last night. I can summarize the use of smokes. Smoke them not yourself. Don't drop them at your feet, throw them at where you're being shot from. It forces your enemies to move rather that blocking your teammates vision and allowing the enemy team to push you unseen.

1 thing you missed.... Medics tend to gravitate to each other. I will see 4-6 medics all within 50 meters while half the team a grid away has zero medics and is in heavy contact. I hate it when I'm down and I see that on the map. And the medic kit without optic is good for urban combat because of the grenade and quicker ADS
@deliciouslybrutal Жыл бұрын
I think this is largely the result of clumping. Medics are attracted to high-casualty situations, so if you got multiple squads pushing an objective from the same direction you'll end up getting multiple squads' medics in one area to attend to the wounded in their squad.
@K.Dilkington3 жыл бұрын
This was a great video. I am already employing all of these tactics you mentioned, as medic if my favorite and most commonly played class in Squad. There are 2 things I would like to add to your points, which kind of go together as well. 1. Always move with your rifle out. If you aren't actively healing someone, then you need to have your rifle ready. I've seen plenty of medics getting shot running from casualty to casualty unable to react because they were running with their field dressing in their hand. You may think why not just keep the field dressing handy if you have multiple casualties around, but that puts you at a higher risk if enemies are still in the AO. 2. Always switch back to field dressing BEFORE switching to your rifle. If you have your med bag out and then switch to your rifle, once a squad mate goes down and you run over to revive them, you'll press 5 (default) and will switch to your med bag first. This will require you to click 5 again and switch to this field dressing. It might seem mundane, but these extra seconds of animation may be crucial. So, make the revive with field dressing, switch to med bag and heal, then switch back to field dressing, and then to your rifle and charlie mike. That's all I wanted to add, good job on this one, mate.

Yall just an update for a year later (from a medic main): Gorlami isn't WRONG, per se, but he is definitely overly-cautious and over-thinking. Probably so that he can pad the video or get a point across better. Still, don't worry about "clearing" irrelevant areas (across a street, in another building, over a berm) before reviving. Don't worry about cover so much, going prone behind a rock is enough. Dragging isn't that necessary, crawl in their body if they are a little exposed. If they are really exposed, just don't revive them until you know for sure it is safe. And the list goes on... this is good starting ground though for new medics.

The most important thing is: stop telling newbies to take medic. They can take rifleman kit which will usually be guaranteed optics and have ammobag to support the squad.

No need to rush into it. Gain some more confidence in game and then try it out. When you do squad lead, you don't have to have a full 9 man, just run a 4 or 5 man squad to take some of the stress out of the equation.

How about a video explaining hoe to get more Action? Some games I just don't see any enemies or just 1 or 2. Would love more Action!
@Gorlami143 жыл бұрын
Honestly you'll have games that are slow and others that are full of action. Your squad's mission will dictate how much or little action you see throughout a game. The best thing I can recommend is stay with your squad. If you're tasked with the defense, don't run off, enemies will eventually show up and you'll get to fight off waves of attackers.
