If anyone is actually interested in knowing, How Squad Zero works is that they don’t have access to their full powers and Bankai (except Ichibei since he is the leader and has met the Soul King) because if they constantly had access to that kind of power, it would fuck up all the 3 realms. To prevent this, they sealed that power from each-other in a special kind of Blood Oath that only gets released when 3 out of 4 of them die. Basically, Just One of them activating their full power is much stronger than all of them without their bankai combined. It could have been any of the other 3, but the fact they chose Senjumaru to finish the job was likely because her Bankai was the most suited to finish them.
