I think the issue they have is a big share of thier fans want the games to be turn base while the other chunk doesn't want turn base.
@videogamehomie2 күн бұрын
Good point but they can make both. Like I said, the Switch/Mobile versions of their big games can be turn-based and the PC/Console versions can be the core version
@bryan1013843 күн бұрын
Square isn't in trouble... This is ridiculous. At least they actually make good COMPLETE games unlike companies like Ubisoft and virtually every other company. Also making Remake a watered down version for the Switch would be a horrible idea. Rebirth launched as a complete product which is almost unheard of these days. Square will be fine. Good luck with your channel bro.

Thanks man but I disagree. Giving people the option of a turn based version of a game that already exists while giving Nintendo fans the real version as well with the Switch 2 woul be a great idea
@christonchev97622 күн бұрын
actually i think Sony is in bigger trouble seens everyones wants to be Multiplat and even the 3rd party publishers that took that Exclusivity are not regreting it like Square,they nearly destroyed Helldivers 2 and look at what Stellar Blade Devs are saying"we think Stellar Blade on PC will sell morethan the PS5 version" tho i highly highly doubt that considering it be a 1-2 year port
@videogamehomieКүн бұрын
Well the Stellar Blade devs probably meant that it would’ve sold way more on PC if it launched along side the PS5 version. This is why I hate it when stupid companies decide to do that exclusivity trash.

They completely lost the plot for me as far as role playing...this action adventure push is not what final fantasy was. The last real good final fantasy was 12 to me...
@videogamehomieКүн бұрын
That’s understandable, but I personally love their action rpgs and the push for it. That doesn’t mean that they can’t make a turn based RPG version of said game on Switch and Mobile devices though

Monolith Soft puts out a xenoblade game every two years while they also help out with other games. It puts Square to shame

Yeah, even though it’s on the Switch too

If it wasn't for the monthly subscriptions from 11 and 14. This company would have disappeared a long time ago

Switch? you mean Xbox?
@videogamehomie2 күн бұрын
Well Xbox could get the Core version of their big games. The Switch could’ve gotten a watered down, turned based version of said big games at the very least.
@joshuabonorino95612 күн бұрын
@ I mean yeah but when the last time something like that has taken practice?
@videogamehomieКүн бұрын
@@joshuabonorino9561 I believe back in the 7th Generation. Back when games were well optimized and for some platforms, made around it. Just because it happened that long ago, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t go back to that

Hell nah, Xbox is trash like Nintendo and PlayStation. PC and Mobile are king

Horrible takes really horrible… Making a game like ff16 turn based and in switch will do nothing but further divide their fans too much yapping my boy
@videogamehomie2 күн бұрын
Wrong. They already divided their fan bases by not giving making more turn based games in general AND not providing their games on other platforms. Try again buddy
@champ215fcp2 күн бұрын
@ cool point but making two versions of the same game will also make production take even longer another one of your gripes just cry
@videogamehomie2 күн бұрын
@@champ215fcp That’s not true though. If they’re using the same engine(Let’s say UE5, which has a Switch and Mobile version btw) with the same models, same animations, etc but optimized for the Switch and Mobile devices, that would be free money. Also, it’s not like anyone would get these turn based versions of the games and Mobile/Switch players wouldn’t get these games anyways as well

Do you not realize that timed exclusives are all about money? It takes a lot of money to develop a AAA game, and if you can offset a sizable chunk of that cost by taking a check from Sony (thus shifting much of the risk to them instead of yourself) why wouldn’t you? Many of these developers have a fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders to turn a profit, and that means cutting costs and offsetting risks. You keep saying that selling games across multiple platforms will make more money. But you’re erroneously equating more sales with more profit, completely ignoring the costs that would go into developing the game for the additional platforms. And your idea about simply changing the combat system to make games work on Switch is laughable and shows you don’t quite understand the engineering side of the equation. Sure, I’d love to see every game on every platform. But until we can find a way to drastically reduce development costs (AI, greater standardization across platforms, etc), timed exclusives are going to remain a reality.
@videogamehomieКүн бұрын
Try telling to the PC version that sells a lot more than the PS5 versions. If that was the case, then everything should probably be a PC exclusive first and foremost, then on consoles. Also Sony’s or anyone’s exclusive check is never worth it. Look at the Kingdom Hearts collection being kept on Epic Games Store for 3 years before finally coming to Steam. It sold amazingly on Steam just coming from 3 years of exclusivity on Epic. Imagine the launch numbers lol Also I completely agree about the cut cost measures. Honestly fuck most of these garbage developers who are unable to optimize and manage recourses correctly. I’d rather have AI take their place at this point
@KyleKlinkКүн бұрын
@@videogamehomieyou’re still viewing it through a purely sales numbers lens. The profitability of a game is not just about how many copies are sold but rather how the revenue from said sales compares to the costs of developing the game. If Sony cuts me a fat check to keep a game on ps5 exclusively and that check covers a massive portion of my projected development costs I’m going to happily take the check and make a profit for my shareholders. I don’t care if there are more PC players who would buy the game than PS5 players. If Sony’s check plus the PS5 sales revenue are projected to exceed the profits of going multi platform then screw the PC players. As RGT has correctly stated in the past, these big studios don’t care about you the actual gamer, they care about making money. It’s business. And if you think they don’t have models constructed to project revenue earned from the various different paths they could take then you’re mistaken. It may not always pan out as projected, but they’re not randomly making these choices (hell, if they were they’d be sued into oblivion by their shareholders with the first failure).
@videogamehomieКүн бұрын
@ Okay but that’s not a good way to make money lol. Oh they cover some of the development cost…so!? FF7 Remake was going to sell amazingly, especially it being multiplat. If that’s what you would do then I am so happy you’re not in the board lol. Also screw the PC players? They buy more games than you console players. I wouldn’t say that or have that attitude towards PC guys who, on average, buy more games than console dudes. I’m sorry but you just sound like a fanboy at this point. I feel like if Microsoft gave Square Enix the money to keep FF7 R on their platforms, who wouldn’t be saying this
