A few quick little thoughts on square roots and on the word "simplify."

In regards to the question at the end: Yes, we can fit a square of area 20 and a square of area 5 in a square of area 40. KZbin won't let me upload a picture of my work. At the very least, I will say that the diagonal of the square of area 40 is 4 times root 5. This is longer than the diagonal of the square with area 5 (which is root 5) added to the length across the square with area 20 (which would equal the side length of 2 times root 5).
